IP Vendors: Four main vendors from N.America, Europe and the Middle East, although many firms have written their own IP rather than buying it.

The CoaXPress Technical Committee is working on version 2.0. A key aim of CoaXPress is to continue to support the fastest cameras on the market!

The speed per link will be extended to 10 Gbps(CXP-10) and 12.5 Gbps (CXP-12). A single 6 core CXP-12 cable will give data rates of 7.5 Gbytes/sec! (Camera Link Decais 0.85 Gbytes/sec)

Faster uplink for camera control and triggering.

Support for connecting very fast cameras to multiple frame grabbers, even if they are in multiple PCs.

Adding forward error correction to cope with random single bit errors, in addition to the existing CRC.
