FIBA has opened a repair and retest facility in Taichung, Taiwan to service the growing fleet of tube trailers throughout Asia.

maintenance requirements, FIBA provides a broad range of

support-related services--most of which are available at any

of our strategically located satellite facilities.

In 2011, FIBA opened a brand new facility in Taichung,

Taiwan to support the repair and retest needs of

customers throughout Asia. This new facility expands

FIBA's reach and offers the same services and quality

that FIBA provides at its 4 existing repair facilities

located in the United States. Customers can expect 5 and

10 year requalification certifications for B and Y cylinders

and jumbo tubes or pressure vessels from FIBA in Taiwan.

In addition, blasting, painting and other rehabilitation services

are available to make your equipment like new.

FIBA received the U.S. Department of Transportation's (DOT) first permit to perform

Ultrasonic Examination (UE) instead of hydrostatic testing for recertification of

cylinders—a revolutionary technology that not only protects the environment by

eliminating the need to remove hazardous gases from the cylinders, but also

prevents product contamination by eliminating the need to introduce water to the

cylinders. FIBA UE has become the preferred method of cylinder requalification

throughout the world and is encouraged by the DOT and Compressed Gas

Association (CGA), as well as being referenced in numerous ISO standards.

Ultrasonic Examination (UE)

FIBA is the industry leader in Acoustic Emission Testing (AET) of high pressure

tubes and vessels. All of our locations provide this service and each location is

a DOT-authorized requalification facility, including Taiwan. FIBA quickly adopted

AET when, with the participation of major industrial gas suppliers in our R&D

programs, the technology was proven to be an important step towards improving

tube and pressure vessel requalification technology. With the ability to conduct

accurate and fast testing of still-assembled tube trailers and multiple-element

gas containers (MEGCs), our methods of AET are accepted worldwide and provide

many benefits to our customers.

Acoustic Emission Testing (AET)

We perform a complete array of rehabilitation and repair services for tube trailers,

skids (MEGCs) and ASME receivers. These services include: internal visual

inspection and cleaning; requalification by AET or UE; welding and bodywork; DOT

inspection and maintenance of brakes, lighting, running gear, etc.; shot blasting

and painting of tubes, chassis, and framework; and full application of DOT placards,

labels, and customer-supplied logos.

Repair and Rehabilitation

FIBA can provide requalification services throughout Asia through the use of its

mobile testing equipment and technicians. With everything our test technician

needs being packaged into a highly mobile system, we can provide high quality

testing and evaluation of your equipment at your site or any location that you

prefer. This portable capability of FIBA's minimizes customer transportation costs

and equipment downtime. FIBA has more testing teams in the field than all other

companies in world.
