In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

We took certain aspects from trailers we had watch previously and incorporated it into our own trailer, however we altered them to fit in with our narrative and theme.

Here we wanted to show the idea that the ‘popular’ people feel inferior to the rest of the school, and don’t acknowledge anyone else who stands in their way . We got this idea from the mean girls scene shown below this text when the three poplar's strut down the corridor and pushes passed anyone that stands in their way.

Mean girls gave us the idea of showing shots of the Bexs and Taylor nowgetting along, because Bexs has accepted her as a person. We showedshort shots of them laughing and giggling together to show how theirfriendship has progressed, which they also do in mean girls through two shots and spilt screens.

‘Enter the Void’ heavily influenced our trailer as we had chosen a storyline which was very similar to the one in this film. We liked the shots and camera angles used and we thought that the background music created a mysterious atmosphere for the audience, which we wanted to create through ‘Psyche’

We really liked the shot in Enter the Void where the man is looking up into the mirror and all the audience can see is his reflection. We decided to recreate this within our trailer, however we wanted to give off the impression that she had just taken some kind of drug in the toilet which shows this idea that she is despite and addicted.

We thought shots like this were very effective as it showed the locations were the protagonist spends hertime and therefore the audience gets a sense of her personality and interests.
