明電舎は1897年（明治30年）の創業以来、電気機器メーカとして様々

な技術や製品・サービスを創出してきました。常に品質の向上を目指し、

新しい製品にチャレンジしてきましたが、チャレンジ精神こそが「ものづく

りの心」であり、その原点が明電舎太田事業所です。

太田事業所は、敷地面積約17万4千平方メートル、1977年4月に当時

の主力工場であった大崎工場から移転し、操業を開始しました。生産ライ

ンでは、大形発電機や発電装置、動力計測システム、制御装置などを

生産し、先進技術が生み出す製品は世界各地で活躍しています。

私達は、企業理念である「より豊かな未来社会の実現に向けて」社会環境

貢献製品を提供するため、「人財育成」に努めると共に「グリーンファク

トリー」を合言葉に地域から信頼される企業を目指しています。

回転機工場の天井を見上げると100トンクレーンの大きなフックを見つけることができます。直径4mの風力発電機でも重量は約60トンあります。自然のエネルギーをパワーに換える製品作りを支えているのは従業員一人ひとりの「ものづくり力」です。

「技術の明電」の基盤はエンジニアのチャレンジ精神です。お客様の様々なご要望に応えるために常に新しいことに挑戦しています。最新のテクノロジーを用いて開発や設計を行い、最新設備の製造ラインでものづくりをしています。

100年を超える回転機の歴史は明電舎の歴史そのものです。現代の名工を生み出す風土は今も脈々と引き継がれています。伝統を守るために「匠の技」は伝承されて「最新のテクノロジー」と融合して製品を作り出しています。

When you look up the ceiling of Rotating Machinery Factory, you could see a big hook of a 100 ton crane.Even our turbine generator for wind power with a 4m diameter length, it weighs about 60 ton. The production of our renewable energy resource-related products are being supported by each one of our employees’ “Passion for Manufacturing Excellence”.

We are famous as “Meiden – An Excellent Engineering Company” and its core competence comes from our innovative challenging spirits. In order to meet the various requirements of the customers, we keep challenging something new and different. Applying the latest technologies, we conduct R & D and designing and make production at the production line with the latest facilities.

Over a century of producing rotating machinery products. This exactly is a history of Meiden Group. At Meiden Ohta Works, the heritage of producing “contemporary master craftmen” is still there. We keep such great tradition of

“special skills of master craftman” or “skills of ‘takumi’ ” *in Japanese and combine it with the latest technologies to produce the fine products.

*Note: "Takumi" is someone who combines his/her tacit knowledge developed through years of experience and his/her finely honed skills in rigorous pursuit of professionalism and excellence.

Finding a Root of “Our Passion for Innovative Manufacturing Excellence”:　Meiden Ohta WorksEver since its founding in 1897, Meidensha Corporation (“Meiden”) has been producing the various innovations, products and services as a supplier of electric products.

Always in pursuit of the improvement for better quality, we make various challenges for new product developments. This challenging spirits represent “Our Passion for Innovative Manufacturing Excellence” and you could find a root of the spirits at Meiden Ohta Works in Ohta City, Gunma Prefecture, Japan.

Meiden Ohta Works started its commercial operations since April 1977 and it has the site area of about 174,000㎡ by transferring some operations from Meiden Ohsaki Works in Tokyo. At its production lines, we produce large capacity generators, power generating systems, dynamometer-applied testing system, control equipment and our products drawing on our cutting-edge advanced technologies are at work in various parts of the world.

To realize our Meiden Group Mission: “Illuminating a more affluent tomorrow” and to produce environmentally conscious products (ECPs), we foster our programs for human resources development and with our motto of “move towards a green factory”, we aim to make a company group trusted by the local community.

At Meiden Group, the production of a rotating machinery products traces more than a century.Our major products are: large capacity turbine generators and turbine generator for hydraulic power. By applying the latest technologies, we conduct R & D programs and design work.And by applying the special skills of “takumi” (master craftmen), we supply high quality and high performance products meeting the various needs of customers. For

power generation system combining an engine and a generator as a package, we supply our mobile gensets to the power utility companies across Japan. This will work as a temporally power supply unit during the power distribution line construction work or at the outbreak of natural disaster. We also have many track records of supplying many emergency generating systems for many vital facilities at home and abroad.

当社創業から１００年を超える歴史をもつ回転機は、大形ガスタービン発電機や

水車発電機などを主力製品としています。先進の技術を活用して開発・設計を行い、

匠の技を駆使しながらお客様のあらゆるニーズに対応した高品質、高性能な製品

を提供しています。また、発電機とエンジンをパッケージ化した発電装置は、配電

線工事や災害発生時の仮設発電所として活躍する移動電源車を全国の電力会社

Ever since we developed a DC dynamometer in 1920, we developed many Dynamometer testing systems to meet the needs of improving car performances at carmakers. Currently, in Japan, the fuel efficiency data shown in the carmaker’s catalogs are measured by using our chassis dynamometer testing systems.

Our automotive testing systems measure the engine unit’s performance data or conduct noise tests or all-weather tests. We even offer the simulation test program using our virtual vehicle testing system. Our testing products are helping the development of latest environmentally conscious cars like hybrid car, pure EV or plug-in hybrid car.

当社は1920年に直流ダイナモメータを開発して以来、自動車メーカの性能向上

に対応するため、数多くの製品を開発してきました。現在、国内販売されている自

動車のカタログ燃費データは当社製シャシダイナモメータで測定されています。

エンジン単体の性能を測ったり、騒音試験や様々な環境下で耐久性を試したり、

仮想車両システムでシミュレーション試験を行うなどハイブリッドカーや電気自動

車を始め最先端のエコカー開発にも貢献しています。

研究開発We also manufacture generator control systems (for control and remote monitoring Of various generators) and switchgears. Especially, the control panel for hydro power is one of our environmentally conscious products (ECPs) and contributes to the society on the Climate Control.

The core strength to keep abreast of the latest technologies comes from a series of R & D program. At Rotating Machinery Factory, for the product development with high performance, we do the simulation to perform the strength or vibration test by applying the latest analysis techniques.Further, at Dynamometer System Factory (DSF), we make the product development using the latest facilities like anechoic room, engine testing room, chassis dynamometer-based testing room for the automotive test in our R & D Laboratory Building.

コントローラはグリーン製品のひとつとして社会に貢献しています。

先端技術を支える基盤は研究開発です。回転機システムでは、最新の解析技術

で強度・振動などのシミュレーションを行い高性能な製品を開発しています。

また、動力計測システムでは研究開発棟内に無響室やエンジン試験室、自動車

試験用のシャシ実験室などを備え、最新設備で製品開発を行っています。
