    The Proof Of Hajj Being Obligatory

    :,, The evidence that Hajj is obligatory is based on the verses of Quran,the Sunnah of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) andthe consensus of the scholar's (Ijma).

    : As for the Quran, Allah says [Pilgrimage to the house is a duty menowe to Allah those who can afford the journey].

    : As for the Sunnah, there are many narrations, such as the saying ofthe Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace), "Verily, Allah hasdeclared Hajj obligatory upon you, therefore perform Hajj.

    And verily, all the scholars of Ahl as-Sunnah have stated that Hajj is

    obligatory upon those who are able.

    The Conditions (Required) For

    Performing Hajj

    They are three conditions a person must meet in order to perform

    Hajj, they are: ,: 1) Sound health: this means that one's body must be free from

    illnesses that would prevent him from performing the actions

    required in the journey of Hajj.

    ,, Hajj is not obligatory on the crippled, chronically ill or those whohave disabilities Likewise, it is not obligatory on one who has lost

    his legs or is ill and neither upon an old enfeebled person. However,

    they are required to instruct others to perform Hajj on their behalf.

    ,: It is conditional that the route to Makkah be safe; and the

    factor consideredhere is that one has a predominant beliefthat it is safe. The fatwa issuedmatter is in accordance with

    this view.

    :,,3) The female must be accompanied by her husband or a

    relative of theprohibited category (mahram), such as her son

    whether she is young or old. If the mahram will notaccompany her unless she covers the expenses, then she

    must fund his expenses.
