    The Sites Of Ihraam For Hajj

    Allah has specified the sites that a person is required to adopt

    Ihraam from. One is not to pass through these sites except in

    a state of Ihraam for Hajj or Umrah:

    : 1) Al-Juhfah: This site is for the residents of Syria and Egypt

    and the people passing through these countries.

    2) Dhul-Hulayfah: This site is for the residents of Madinah and

    the people passing through these Madinah.

    3) Dhat Irq: This site is for the residents of Iraq, Iran,

    Khurasaan etc.. and the people passing through these places.

    4) Qarn al-Nazil: This site is for the residents of Najd and thepeople passing through these countries.

    5) Yalamlam: This site is for the residents of Yamen, (also

    people coming from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan etc..) and the

    people passing through these countries.

    It is permitted for those intending Hajj to adopt Ihraam before

    reaching one of these sites. This is the best practice, provided

    one is sure in himself that he will not engage in any of the

    forbidden acts of Ihraam.

    If one is a resident in the country of Hajj, but lives closer to

    Makkah than the sites of Ihraam, then his Miqaat is any place

    he chooses on the way to Makkah. It is not permitted for him

    to enter the vicinity of al-Haram with the intention of Hajj or

    Umrah, unless he first observes Ihraam.
