POLLINATION
• When a male polen joins with a female ovule, a seed is made, and then a fruit.
• Insects can carry some pollen from one flower to another.
• Insects have food from nectar and can make honey.
FRUITS
• FRUITS grow from flowers.• We can classify fruit into two groups:
• FLESHY FRUITS are juicy because they have a lot of water:pears, apples, melon, …
• NUTS do not have a lot of water: acorn, peanuts, …
SEEDS
• SEEDS are inside fruits.
• Some fruit have only
one seed, like peaches, plums, cherries,…
• Others have a lot of seeds
like, tomatoes, melon,
oranges, …
PLANTS ARE BORN
• Plants are born from seeds.
• In Spring the flowers grow.
• The ovaries inside the flowers become a fruit.
PLANTS ARE BORN
• Fruits have seeds inside.
• When the fruit is ripe, it falls to the ground or we can collect it and plant the seeds.
• When the seeds are in the soil, a new plant can grow from each seed.
