Created in 2008 as part of the Equal Opportunity Plan , the French Military Cadet Force is a program in which students who are about 15 years old are introduced to the military field and take part in military training activities. This first military immersion takes place within local units supervised by militaries on active duty, reservists and teachers from the Ministry of Education.

The “Escadrilles Air Jeunesse” (French Air Force Air Cadets) is part of the FAF long-term recruitment plan. The objective of the EAJs is to inspire youth between aged 12-25 to maintain their military involvement within a training program spread over several years. The EAJs create a bond with youngsters through aeronautics, airmen values, history and traditions. Ultimately this program will involve all FAF sites.
