The MEC-2000 series is a full-HD video camera,

consisting of a compact HD camera head (C-mount)

and a CCU that enables various real-time video

processing. Equipped with a high performance CMOS sensor, the camera can be used for medical applications,

broadcasting, image analysis, and a variety of other video fields that require high-resolution video and high color

reproducibility. The camera head and CCU can be connected with a twisted-pair cable, up to a length of

approximately 80 m. This enables flexible and inexpensive use even in locations in which installation was difficult

in the past, or that required large-scale construction.　

Separated camera head supports twisted-pair cable connectionWidely available twisted-pair cable (shielded Cat5e/6) is

used to connect the camera head and CCU. Connection

with a single cable is possible up to a length of 20 m. In

addit ion , fix ing screw holes are prov ided on the

connector portion of the camera head, making it

possible to more securely attach a specialized cable.※Please use a twisted-pair cable recommended by Carina.

CCU with useful unique functions and easy operability The specialized CCU allows the adjustment of image quality and unique image processing. Freeze, still image

capture, electronic zoom, and other direct camera operations are

conducted via operation buttons on the front panel. CCU functions can

be controlled by RS-232, LAN and mechanical switch input also.

●Extendable with a repeaterAn optional repeater can be used to extend thelength of the connection to a maximum lengthof 100 m. The repeater does not require anypower supply. The connection can be extendedup to 100 m with four more repeaters and oneexternal power supply.

SONY IMX036 for the CMOS sensor,

the compact, 3.4M (valid pixels:

120 g, allowing C mounting. In addition,

1920 x 1080/59.94p progressive output is also supported.

■Multi-window display functionThe multi-window display function allows effective real-time combined display of images on a 16:9 monitor that is convenient for use with a microscope. In addition, an electronic zoom function and a vertical/horizontal picture inversion function are provided.

■Freeze functionBy pressing the Freeze button on the main unit at the desired scene, a stil l image can be displayed on the monitor. Pressing the button again releases the image.

■ Image quality adjustment function

●Enables fine adjustment of image qualityGamma, knee, white clip, black stretch, and other detailed adjustment items, as well as WDR, DNR, and many other correction functions are provided.

●ALC（Auto Level Control)Picture level is automatically adjusted to the specified brightness. The priority can be set to either shutter speed or gain.

●Slow shutterA slow shutter mode (1/2 to 1/30) is provided, enabling effective shooting in low light.

●Scene fileUp to 5 camera settings can be stored and recalled as scene files. The selection can be changed easily with the onscreen menu. Sean files are very useful for quickly adjusting to different lightings and applications.

●Simple rotary switch operationA rotary switch on the main unit and an onscreen menu displayed on the monitor are used for adjustment of the camera image. Picture level, white balance, and other frequently used functions a r e ass igned t o t he r o t a r y switch, making direct operation possible.

■Still image save and preview functionsThe MEC-2400/2200 allow connection of USB drive to the f ront panel for storage of selected scenes as JPEG still images (JPEG maximum size: 2046 x 1536). Stil l images can be p r ev iewed on the monitor.※ USB is available on the MEC-2400/2200 only.

■Full lineup of video outputUse of HDMI in the video output terminal enables support of 1920 x 1080 and 1280 x 720 HD output. The MEC-2400/2200 support composite video output (down-converted). The MEC-2400 also supports 3G HD-SDI output.

【Example of still image acquisition via a network】

■Support for a wide range of external controlCamera control and still image acquisition can be conducted by a remote PC via a network. Still images can be stored easily on the local drive of the PC including USB drive or shared folders on an external server. In addition, a separately available infrared remote controller can also control the camera. Also, an external controller with serial or relay connection can conduct basic camera operation.※ USB is available on the MEC-2400/2200 only.Display the image on themonitor
