The Ministry of Education is currently working on plans for future primary provision in the Halswell area, and is seeking your input. This is an exciting opportunity for the whole community and parents to contribute innovative ideas and have input into the structure of new education provision for Halswell. The Ministry owns two sites in the area, and a map of these sites can be accessed on the Ministry's website: http://www.education.govt.nz/halswell-community-engagement-on-proposed-new-primary-education-provision/

In the first phase of this community engagement process there were a series of face-to-face workshops to identify and discuss options and features for new schooling. The ideas generated have been collated into this online survey. The results of this survey will make it possible to identify which options and ideas have a wider base of support. Even if you attended a face-to-face workshop, please take the time to complete this survey also. It will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

It is important to note that the population projections mean that there will need to be additional capacity created in the primary network (Year 1 - 8) before additional capacity is needed in the secondary network (Year 9 - 13). This engagement process is primarily focussed on creating capacity in Year 1 - 8, although some of the options suggested also impact the secondary network.

This information will be used, in conjunction with all other feedback gathered, to help the Ministry understand community views, and develop options to meet future education needs.
