activity gameshow, the aim of the game is to get to the end of the

course within a certain time, you are timed

against other competitors and there is

3 rounds. You must come in 7th place to get through the first, 4th to get through the second and 3rd to get to the last

round!

Ninja Warrior UK is a similar to Total Wipeout, however a lot more

intense, the obstacles come across as a lot harder.

In Copycats, works just like Chinese whispers, you have to get across a mime, a drawing or a song through

some sort of kazoo. Your personal aim is to not get caught out and try and

receive the figure out the right message and how to pass it along

without fail.

Activity oriented gameshows, are gameshows which are based on a

particular type of activity, whether it is physical, puzzle etc.

Panel Game

In “Would I Lie To You” two teams compete as each player reveals unusual facts and embarrassing

personal tales for the evaluation of the opposing team. Some of these are true; some are not, and

panelists’ task is to decide which is which.

The original premise of the show was to see which team knows most about the week's tabloid news stories, although later series focus more on the

comedy factor of the participating celebrity guests and games involving them, rather than discussing the

week's news.

Puzzle Oriented Gameshows

Catchprase is a game in which at the beginning of each standard round, one contestant stops a

randomiser consisting of money amounts by hitting his/her button. The value landed on would be the

amount for the normal catchphrases in that round. The money prizes can range up to £300

In Wheel Of Fortune, contestants compete to solve word puzzles, similar to those used in Hangman, to win cash and prizes. The title refers to the show's giant carnival wheel that contestants spin throughout the course of the game to determine their cash and/or prizes

Quiz The Chase:The chase is a quiz game, there are 4 contestants and one chaser. Each person goes through a series of questions and tries to get them all right to beat the chaser and win some money. If the chaser catches up with you, you lose and lose all you’re money and you are out of the game.

Are You Smarter Than a 10 Year Old? In each game, the contestant (an adult) is asked a series of up to eleven questions, spanning ten subjects (such as History, Maths or Science) taken from textbooks for 6 to 10 year-old students. Each question is associated with an age level; there are two questions per age group, from 6 to 10. The player can answer the questions in any order, and each correct answer raises their cumulative amount of winnings to the next level (see table). There is a safe point after 5 correct answers, guaranteeing the player the value of the fifth question, and after ten questions players may take a jackpot question for the top prize.

Reality TV game showsI’m a celebrity…get me out of here!: This is one of the most popular game shows out there, it’s quite different to others, a group of B-list celebrities is stranded in Costa Rica, with their fate in the hands of viewers in this retooling of the British reality show. The celebrities compete in survival-themed challenges to earn extra food, supplies and luxury items, and viewers vote them off the show one by one

Other Two family teams, each with five members, are asked to guess the results of surveys, in which 100 people would be asked open ended questions. Each round begins with a member of each family (in rotation, meaning all players do this at least once) approaching the podium. As the question is read, the first of the two nominees to hit a buzzer gives an answer. If this is not the most popular answer, the other nominee is asked.

CATCHPHRASETitle – CatchphraseTitle Sequence – Catchphrase is a game where a small animation is shown on a large screen, acting out a short phrase people would say in everyday life. You earn a certain amount of money each round by buzzing in first and giving the correct answer and at the end of the game whoever has the most money is the winner and they go through into the finals where they must answer at least 5 phrases in 60 seconds to win $50,000 plus what they had already won. Rules – The rules of the show are to press your buzzer when you think you have the correct answer to match the animation. If it is wrong you will be frozen out which then gives other players a chance to guess. You only get 60 seconds of the animation until moving to the next. Each round you will win a certain amount of money per catchphrase, the person with the most money is the winner. Host – Stephen Mulhern is the host of the game show. Stephen is a funny and entertaining type of person which makes the game more interesting and funnier to watch. He has also presented many more shows such as Britain’s Got More Talent and Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. As he is well known it can cause more people to watch the showing, knowing he has a funny side. Guests – The type of people that come on the show are just normal people you see every day. Anyone can apply to come on the show and win some money. There is sometimes a celebrity special where 3 well known super stars come on to win some money for their chosen charity. Audience – The type of people to watch the show are people who love guessing games and a competition, as there can be some people playing it who are better than others. The show is more for the older audience as some younger viewers may not know some of the catchphrases. My opinion of this show is that it is a fun game show for anyone to play along to, at home or on the game itself. It can bring people together to play it and it is fun to see who knows the catchphrases the best.
