Οι "Κατευθυντήριοι Λίθοι της Γεωργίας" (στα Αγγλικά Georgia Guidestones) είναι ένα τεράστιο κατασκεύασμα από γρανίτη, το οποίο βρίσκεται στην κορυφή του λόφου Elbert County, στην Γεωργία των ΗΠΑ. Συχνά αναφέρεται ως το "Αμερικάνικο Στόουνχεντζ", ένας τίτλος που έχει επίσης αποδοθεί κατά καιρούς σε μια σειρά από άλλες κατασκευές.

Μία πλάκα βρίσκεται στο κέντρο, μετις άλλες τέσσερις διατεταγμένες γύρω απ’ αυτήν. Στην κορυφή βρίσκεται η έκτη πλάκα, ως κορωνίδα του κατασκευάσματος. Αξιοσημείωτο είναι ότι οι πλάκες είναι ευθυγραμμισμένες αστρονομικά. Μια πρόσθετη πέτρινη πλάκα, είναι τοποθετημένη στο έδαφος και σε μικρή απόσταση προς τα δυτικά της κατασκευή, η οποία παρέχει ορισμένες διευκρινίσεις σχετικά με την ιστορία και τον σκοπό των "Κατευθυντηρίων Λίθων".

ΤοποθεσίαΟι "Κατευθυντήριοι Λίθοι της Γεωργίας" βρίσκονται στο Elbert County, της Γεωργίας των ΗΠΑ, περίπου 145 χιλιόμετρα ανατολικά της Ατλάντα και 15 χιλιόμετρα βόρεια από το κέντρο της Elberton. Οι λίθοι βρίσκονται σ' ένα ύψωμα, σε μικρή απόσταση από τον την Εθνική Οδό "Highway 77" (Hartwell Highway), στα ανατολικά της Γεωργίας και είναι ορατοί από το δρόμο.

Μικρές πινακίδες δίπλα από την Εθνική Οδό αναφέρουν την στροφή για τους "Κατευθυντήριους Λίθους", οι οποίες προσδιορίζονται από το οδικό σήμα που αναφέρει: "Guidestones Rd".

Το ιστορικό της κατασκευήςΗ δημιουργία του επιβλητικού αυτού κατασκευάσματος καλύπτεται από αρκετό μυστήριο. Κατασκευάστηκε στις 22 Μαρτίου 1980, όπως αναφέρει η επεξηγηματική πλάκα, δίπλα απ’ αυτό. Οι μοναδικές πληροφορίες που υπάρχουν σχετικά με την κατασκευή του, αναφέρουν ότι τον Ιούνιο του 1979 μετέβη στην περιοχή ένας άνθρωπος ονόματι R.C. Christian, όνομα το οποίο αποτελούσε ψευδώνυμο, όπως παραδέχτηκε και ο ίδιος. Προσέγγισε την εταιρεία φινιρίσματος γρανίτη Elberton και ζήτησε την οικοδόμηση ενός μνημείου το οποίο θα μεταβίβαζε ένα μήνυμα στην ανθρωπότητα. Όπως ο ίδιος είχε πει, αντιπροσώπευε μια ομάδα ατόμων που ήθελαν να προσφέρουνοδηγίες στην ανθρωπότητα.

Το μήνυμα το οποίο είναι χαραγμένο στους «Κατευθυντήριους Λίθους της Γεωργίας» σχετίζεται με τέσσερις σημαντικούς τομείς:

1. Τη διακυβέρνηση και την εγκαθίδρυση μιας παγκόσμιας κυβέρνησης. 2. Τον πληθυσμό και τον έλεγχο της αναπαραγωγής. 3. Το περιβάλλον και τη σχέση του ανθρώπου με τη φύση. 4. Την πνευματικότητα.

Το μήνυμαΈνα μήνυμα, το οποίο αποτελείται από ένα σύνολο δέκα κατευθυντήριων γραμμών ή αρχών, είναι χαραγμένο στους «Κατευθυντήριους Λίθους της Γεωργίας» σε οκτώ διαφορετικές γλώσσες, καθεμιά στη μεγάλη πλευρά των τεσσάρων λίθων. Ξεκινώντας από βόρεια και με κατεύθυνση προς τα δεξιά, οι γλώσσες αυτές είναι: Αγγλικά, Ισπανικά, Σουαχίλι, Χίντι, Εβραϊκά, Αραβικά, Αρχαία Κινέζικα, και Ρώσικα. Το παρακάτω κείμενο αποτελεί την μετάφραση του μηνύματος από τα Αγγλικά:

Ένα μικρότερο μήνυμα εμφανίζεται στις τέσσερις κάθετες επιφάνειες της κορωνίδας λίθου, σε διαφορετική γλώσσα και γραφή σε κάθε πλευρά. Στο ανατολικό της μέτωπο το μήνυμα στα Αρχαία Ελληνικά αναφέρει: "Οἴτε οί λίθοι την ὀδών δεικνύντων οἰῶνοι σωφροσύνης". Οι υπόλοιπες τρεις νεκρές γλώσσες του συγκεκριμένου μηνύματος είναι: Βαβυλωνιακή Σφηνοειδής (στα βόρεια),Σανσκριτικά (στα νότια), και Αιγυπτιακά Ιερογλυφικά (στα δυτικά).

Η επεξηγηματική πλάκαΛίγα μέτρα δυτικά του κατασκευάσματος, μία ακόμα γρανιτένια πλάκα βρίσκεται τοποθετημένη στο έδαφος. Αυτή η πλάκα προσδιορίζει τη δομή και τις γλώσσες που χρησιμοποιούνται, παραθέτειδιάφορα στοιχεία σχετικά με το μέγεθος, το βάρος, και τα αστρονομικά στοιχεία των λίθων, την ημερομηνία που ανεγέρθηκε και τους χορηγούς του έργου. ΑπόψειςΗ έλλειψη πληροφοριών δημιουργεί μια ατμόσφαιρα μυστήριου η οποία αφήνει χώρο σε πολλές εκδοχές. Ομάδες όπως οι Ροδόσταυροι και οι Μασόνοι θεωρούνται κατά πολλούς οι πιθανοί κατασκευαστές του. Το RC στο ψευδώνυμο του μυστηριώδη κυρίου “Christian RC” από πολλούς εξηγείται σαν «Rosicrucian”, δηλαδή «Ροδόσταυρος». Επίσης αυτό το οποίο προκαλεί τρομερή εντύπωση, είναι η αναφορά στον έλεγχο του πληθυσμού και συγκεκριμένα στην μείωση του σε κάτω από 500.000.000, πράγμα το οποίο σημαίνει ότι περίπου το 80% του πληθυσμού θα πρέπει ναπεθάνει. Γι’ αυτό το λόγο πολλοί αποκαλούν το μνημείο "ταφόπλακα της ανθρωπότητας".

Επίσης, με αναφορά σ' αυτό το περίεργο μνημείο ξεκινάει και τελειώνει η ταινία-ντοκιμαντέρ "Endgame: Blueprint for global enslavement"

Georgia Guidestones

Les Georgia Guidestones, appelé aussi le "Stonehenge américain", est un monument en granite érigé le 22 mars 1980 aux États-Unis 1, en Géorgie, près d'Elberton. Six blocs de granite de 5,87 mètres de haut pour un poids total de 237,746 lb (soit 107 840 kg), affichent un message en plusieurs langues. Sur la plaque du haut, il y a des inscriptions en quatre langues sur les côtés : babylonien, grec ancien, sanskrit et hiéroglyphe égyptien. Un trou dans la pierre horizontale du haut donne la date à midi. Un trou montre l'étoile polaire dans la colonne centrale.

La plaque sur le sol donne les explications avec des références astronomiques, et promet à tort une capsule temporelle enterrée, « à ouvrir le » sans date précisée2.

Aux équinoxes et aux solstices, on peut voir le soleil se lever dans la fente de la colonne centrale.

MessageDix commandements sont gravés sur les deux faces des quatre pierres érigées verticalement. Ils sontécrits en huit langues différentes : l'anglais, le russe, l'hébreu, l'arabe, l'hindi, le chinois (mandarin), l'espagnol (castillan) et le swahili.

Critiques et théoriesLe premier commandement suscite de nombreux complots au sujet d'un plan secret pour la réduction de la population mondiale à 500 millions d'individus.

Le deuxième commandement, en parlant de « guider » la reproduction, semble parler de pratiques eugénistes.

Le sixième est le « principe de non ingérence ».

L’œuvre fait aussi référence au monolithe noir dans le film 2001, l'Odyssée de l'espace en 1968 (voir Arthur C. Clarke).

Une conséquence du documentaire controversé d'Alex Jones en 2007 Endgame: Elite's Blueprint For Global Enslavement : en 2008 il y a eu vandalisme avec insulte dirigée contre Obama, le satanisme, le nouvel ordre mondial... comme dans le documentaire.

The structure is sometimes referred to as an "American Stonehenge."[1] The monument is 19 feet 3 inches (5.87 m) tall, made from six granite slabs weighing 237,746 pounds (107,840 kg) in all.[2] One slab stands in the center, with four arranged around it. A capstone lies on top of the five slabs, which are astronomically aligned. An additional stone tablet, which is set in the ground a short distance to the west of the structure, provides some notes on the history and purpose of the Guidestones.

HistoryIn June 1979, an unknown person or persons under the pseudonym R. C. Christian hired Elberton Granite Finishing Company to build the structure.[2]

The stones defaced with polyurethane paint and graffiti

In 2008, the stones were defaced with polyurethane paint and graffiti with slogans such as "Death tothe new world order".[3] Wired magazine called the defacement "the first serious act of vandalism in the Guidestones' history".[2]

InscriptionsA message consisting of a set of ten guidelines or principles is engraved on the Georgia Guidestonesin eight different languages, one language on each face of the four large upright stones (see photograph of the face with the English version right). Moving clockwise around the structure from due north, these languages are: English, Spanish, Swahili, Hindi, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese and Russian.

Explanatory tabletA few feet to the west of the monument, an additional granite ledger has been set level with the

ground. This tablet identifies the structure and the languages used on it, lists various facts about the size, weight and astronomical features of the stones, the date it was installed and the sponsors of theproject. It also speaks of a time capsule buried under the tablet, but fields on the stone reserved for filling in the dates on which the capsule was buried and is to be opened have not been inscribed, andit is not clear whether the time capsule was ever put in place. Each side of the tablet is perpendicularto one of the cardinal directions, and is inscribed so that the northern edge is the top of the inscription.

The complete text of the explanatory tablet is detailed below. The accompanying image shows the overall layout. The tablet is somewhat inconsistent with respect to punctuation and also misspells "pseudonym". The original spelling, punctuation and line breaks in the text have been preserved in the transcription which follows.

At the center of each tablet edge is a small circle, each containing a letter representing the appropriate compass direction (N, S, E, W).

Below the two columns of text is written the caption "GUIDESTONE LANGUAGES", with a diagram of the granite slab layout beneath it. The names of eight modern languages are inscribed along the long edges of the projecting rectangles, one per edge. Starting from due north and movingclockwise around so that the upper edge of the northeast rectangle is listed first, they are English, Spanish, Swahili, Hindi, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese and Russian. Astronomical featuresThe four outer stones are oriented to mark the limits of the 18.6 year lunar declination cycle.[4] Thecenter column features a hole through which the North Star can be seen regardless of time, as well as a slot that is aligned with the Sun's solstices and equinoxes. A 7/8" aperture in the capstone allows a ray of sun to pass through at noon each day, shining a beam on the center stone indicating the day of the year.[2]

LocationThe Georgia Guidestones are located on a hilltop in Elbert County, Georgia, approximately 90 miles(140 km) east of Atlanta, 45 miles (72 km) from Athens, and 9 miles (14 km) north of the center of Elberton.[5] The stones are standing on a rise a short distance to the east of Georgia Highway 77 (Hartwell Highway), and are visible from that road. Small signs beside the highway indicate the turnoff for the Guidestones, which is identified by a street sign as "Guidestones Rd." It is located onthe highest point in Elbert County.

OwnershipElbert County owns the Georgia Guidestones site. According to the Georgia Mountain Travel Association's detailed history: "The Georgia Guidestones are located on the farm of Mildred and Wayne Mullenix..."[4] The Elbert County land registration system shows what appears to be the Guidestones as County land purchased on October 1, 1979.[6] [7]

The monument was unveiled in March 1980, in front of 100 people.[8] Another account specifies March 22, 1980 and says 400 people attended.[2]

Documentary seriesThe Georgia Guidestones are featured extensively in the Travel Channel episode "Mysteries at the Museum: Monumental Mysteries Special" featuring Don Wildman.[9] They are featured prominently in the conspiracy web series Guidestones. The guidestones were featured in the Brad Meltzer's Decoded episode "Apocalypse in Georgia" and in 2013, a documentary titled, The Georgia Guidestones Movie, received screenings in Georgia, South Carolina, and Oregon. The monument is also featured in the "New World Order" episode of the History Channel series America Unearthed.

ReceptionYoko Ono and others have praised the inscribed messages as "a stirring call to rational thinking", while opponents have labeled them as the "Ten Commandments of the Antichrist".[2]

The Guidestones have become a subject of interest for conspiracy theorists. One of them, an activistnamed Mark Dice, demanded that the Guidestones "be smashed into a million pieces, and then the rubble used for a construction project",[10] claiming that the Guidestones are of "a deep Satanic origin", and that R. C. Christian belongs to "a Luciferian secret society" related to the New World Order.[2] At the unveiling of the monument, a local minister proclaimed that he believed the monument was "for sun worshipers, for cult worship and for devil worship".[8]

Computer analyst Van Smith said the monument's dimensions predicted the height of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world which opened in Dubai over thirty years after the Georgia Guidestones were designed. Smith said the builders of the Guidestones were likely aware of the Burj Khalifa project which he compared to the biblical Tower of Babel.[11]

As a counter to many conspiracy theories is a theory that the guidelines are only stating the basic concepts required in the future to restart a devastated civilization after surviving some Cold War ideologically caused disaster that was expected to occur in the late 20th century. If so, then some of the more controversial guidelines as seen from viewpoint of our present peaceful conditions, would likely in a post disaster recovering future, seem less ominous, more practical, and could help prevent future ideologically caused disasters by following their terse concepts.[12] [13]
