Welcome to sign up for the SAP Netweaver Gateway Service Consumption System. If you feel comfortable withhandling an SAP ERP System feel free to jump immediately to the sign up below. We do however suggest that beforedoing so you take the time to read this document as it will not only give you the information on how to connect but alsoother valuable information you might need when using the system. Where do I sign up?To get started follow this link to the sign up form. When you sign up the form will take your SCN data as user data. Theform also asks you to agree to the EULA. Once you have done that an email will be send to the email address thatSCN has on file for your user with your logon information. Please make sure that the email address displayed is a validemail address for you if it is not please update your email address in your SCN profile before registering to the system. How do I connect to the system?Minutes after you registered to the system you should receive an email with your username and password. Once youhave that the fastest way to change your initial password is by using the WebGUI. The WebGui for the system islocated at https://sapes1.sapdevcenter.com/webgui. The WebGui is also the simplest way to connect to the system andnavigate around in it. It is best to use Microsoft Internet Explorer for WebGui although Firefox and Safari should workfine too. We do however advice against using Google Chrome as we have seen things not working.If you happen to have SAP Gui Windows or Java version you do however also have the option of creating aconnection to the system in there. At this point we do not have an option of giving SAP Gui to you should you not havethe rights to download it from SAP Service Marketplace. The connection information for SAP Gui to the system is asfollows: Application Server: lvpal259.dmzpal.sap.corpInstance Number: 00SystemID: ES1SAPRouterString: /H/erpgw.sapdevcenter.com/S/3299/H/

What can I do with the System?The main purpose of the system is to learn about consuming SAP Netweaver Gateway Services. All URL's to Gatewayfor this system start with https : //sapes1.sapdevcenter.com/sap/opu.. Please have a look at the  Sample Services and how to use them. The system is only for consumption of ODataServices not for building new ones. If you are interested in building new services you have the option of choosing oneof the other systems on the previous entry page. We will not hand out authorizations for developing any ABAP on thissystem. What is on the System?The System is an SAP ECC (Enterprise Core Components) filled with some Demo Data. You do have read and writeauthorizations to all modules but are restricted form accessing administrative functionality. Furthermore the systemallows you to access the development tools but does not allow development itself. Debugging with viewingpermissions is however possible. If I need helpIf you have a question about Gateway feel free to post a message in the  forum.  Please also consider subscribing tothe  Operations Announcement Document where we will post information on the status of the system. In the futurewe are going to compile an FAQ, but for now we put the most pressing things into this document. If I forgot my username or passwordGo back to the signup form. The form will find you in the system and allow you to reset your user. Once your user isreset you will get an email confirming that the password has been reset.

Hi Ingo, Good News for whoever dnt have access gateway system. I am not able to access the login form with below of the linkhttps://supsignformsvalprot.prod.jpaas.sapbydesign.com/SUPSignForms/ getting below of the error with above link 

Could not connect to serverOverview:Could not connect to 155.56.250.141 .Details:Failed to initialize remote file descriptorOptions:

Hi Ingo,I too tried it out but the link which Shyam pointed out does not work. Hope it is fixed soon. I have one more question: I have downloaded and installed the SAP NetWeaver Gateway Plugin ForEclipse_2.6.400. I hope I can use the credentials which I will get after registering in that link from aJAVA Application to connect to a SAP CRM system via NW gateway and create a case in the CRM. Sorry if I am asking this question to the wrong person. BRTapas

Yes the form is down. You might want to subscribe to the Operations Document @http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC40441 so you get notified when it is fixed. Sorry for that. YOu will be

able to use that user inside any application that can talk REST resp HTTP, but we do not have anCRM system here but only an ERP. Best Ingo

Great Ingo... Thanks for the information. I will try to connect to the ERP system. So Ingo, even though in this environment a CRM system is not there behind the NW Gateway Ibelieve it is possible in the real world to connect to a SAP CRM system of an organization via a NWGateway from a Java Client?Would be very helpful if you let me know this.RegardsTapas

Hi Dixit,yes absolutely. Gateway is basically only a framework that you can deploy into any ABAP basedSytem be it ECC/ERP, CRM, SCM, SRM or BW or if you choose to do so you can run it on a separateABAP system in front of your ABAP application systen and connect the two ABAP systems. Thedeployment option you choose depends mostly on what your backend systems Netweaver version isbased on. Gateway needs a 7.20 ABAP Kernel and EhP02 of Netweaver to be installed if I remembercorrectly from the top of my head. If your backend has that you can deploy it into the backend directly.If not you stand up a separate machine in front of and connect the two. It's quite a while that we wentpast these requirements and I can't quite remember. Its all in the PAM if you need to look it up.Gateway speaks HTTP/HTTPS, REST and oData in XML or JSON flavour. Any client that can do that (pretty much any language that can do http calls ) can comunicate with it. Best Ingo

Hi guys,it is working for me. Have you guys logged on to SCN before klicking the link? I noticed that somepeople just klick the link without being logged on. Unfortunately the form does not redirect to the SCNlogon if you are not logged on befor going there. Somwhat inconvenient but we don't have aworkaround for that at the moment. I enhanded the document with the need to be logged on before going there. Best Ingo

Hi Ingo, The link is not working, irrespective of the fact whether the user is logged in or not. I am trying for thepast 4 days and every single time it has resulted in timeout. Even when  you  ping the url (or the IP), itresults in timeout. There is some issue at your (SAP) end and I would request you ( or responsibleperson) to look into that ASAP. This wonderful blog is meaningless unless the user can actually usethe Gateway service for which the working of the mentioned url is mandatory. Thanks,Dhananjay

HI Dhanajay,all I can say is that it is working from where I am. I send the guys who do the forms a message andthey seem to see the problem. Up until now it looked like as if it would be some sort of a logonproblem but aparently it is not. Best Ingo

It might work for SAP employee only. In case you are extern and do not have any access in the SAPnetwork just forget it.I got the same experience many time, but never the solution. After couple of weeks nobody will bereally interested anymore.

Sorry for all this. The form is aparelty only visible to SAP Corporate network. We are working ongetting the firewall responsible for this changed. I keep you informed on the progress. Best Ingo
