She is a journalist and a feminist activist. In the 1960s and 1970s she was part of the feminist revolution in the USA. She co-founded the second-wave feminist Ms [miss] magazine. My teacher recommends a very funny article she wrote in 1978 called "If Men Could Menstruate". In 2005, Steinem, Jane Fonda, and Robin Morgan co-founded the Women's Media Center, an organization that works to make women visible and powerful in the media.
