Saturday, October 27: Travel to Florence South Carolina 5:15AM: Motorcoach will depart from Lancaster, AC Moore Store located in Lancaster Shopping Center on the Oregon Pike/ Route 272 side of the store. 6:15AM: Depart from Harrisburg, AAA Central Penn, 2301 Paxton Church Rd; travel to Florence, SC with a rest and meal stop en route.

Check into your hotel with time to freshen up before a delightful dinner at the Red Bone Alley Restaurant. Hotel: Hampton Inn & Suites, Florence, SC (Dinner)

Sunday, October 28: Hofwyl Broadfield Plantation After breakfast depart for the Golden Isles of Georgia with a lunch stop en route. Afternoon visit to Hofwyl Broadfield, the culture of a forgotten empire comes alive at this historic rice plantation along the Altamaha River. Walk beneath a beautiful live oak to the antebellum home furnished with fine antiques, then gaze from the porch past magnolias and camellias to the marsh where rice once flourished. The museum features fine silver, a model of a working rice plantation, and a slide show about the life of planters and slaves. Following our tour, check into your hotel and freshen up before dinner at the Jekyll Island Seafood Company. Hotel: Hampton Inn & Suites, Jekyll Island, GA (Breakfast, Dinner)

Monday, October 29: Jekyll Island tram tour After breakfast, depart on a 90 minute tram tour of Jekyll Islands Historic District. From 1886 to 1942 this area served as the winter retreat for America’s wealthiest families – The Rockefeller’s, Crane’s, Goodyear’s and the Morgan’s. Thirty-three of the original buildings still stand with many mansion-sized “cottages”. We will tour two of these historical buildings. After the tour, you will have an opportunity to visit the museum exhibits and view a video presentation that reveals the fascinating story of Jekyll Island from its earliest inhabitants, across its fabled Club Era, to its wondrous restoration programs today. This afternoon we will have lunch and free time at the Beach Market. Tonight enjoy a wine and cheese reception at the hotel before a delightful three course dinner at the Jekyll Island Club. Following dinner enjoy a special private performance by a “man and his guitar” See You Try country music artist Craig Campbell. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Tuesday, October 30: Georgia Sea Turtle Center, St. Simons Island Tour After breakfast we depart for a day of touring, our first stop will be a visit to the Georgia Sea Turtle Center.The center is a functioning hospital for ill and injured sea turtles, with two distinct public sections. The first is an interactive museum, with information about Georgia’s sea turtles and the challenges they face. The second area holds tanks of recovering turtles. Lunch on our own this afternoon. Then we head to St. Simons Island where we will have a two-hour guided tour which will include a stop at Fort Frederica, built by James Edward Oglethorpe in 1736. A stop at Christ Church where John and Charles Wesley held church services here under the oak trees for the early settlers. Free time for dinner on your own in the Village and time to climb the Lighthouse or walk around the pier. (Breakfast)

Wednesday, October 31: Savannah Tour, Depart for Florence South Carolina After breakfast, depart for Savannah, Georgia for a stop at the Savannah Visitor’s Center, then enjoy a guided tour of the Historic District with a visit to the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Lunch will be on your own along River Street, a 9-block area adjacent to the Savannah River where old cotton warehouses have been turned into charming shops and restaurants. Evening departure for Florence, South Carolina check into your hotel freshen up before our included dinner. Hotel: Hampton Inn & Suites, Florence, SC (Breakfast, Dinner)

Thursday, November 1: Depart for Central Pennsylvania Following breakfast, depart for Central Pennsylvania with a fast food stop en route. (Breakfast)
