Notes:

1 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you — unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. 8 Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me.

“FORSAKEN”

Conducted by: Juliet Jao / Narrators: Carolyn Bugg and Joe Calpin

GBC Adult Choir Evening Service April 20, 2014

On Palm Sunday, Jesus rode into Jerusalem amid shouts of "Hosanna,

Blessed is He who comes in the name of The Lord!"

Anthem #1: Hosanna! We Sing!

But before even one week had passed, the same crowd came with torches and swords

to arrest Him.

Anthem #2: Torches and Swords

They put Jesus on trial and shouted, "Crucify Him!" Jesus, the Son of God,

was FORSAKEN!

Anthem #3: O, My Soul, What Darkness

Anthem #4: Death Lay Heavy

Anthem #5: God So Loved the World

On the third day, some women were told by the angel in front of Jesus' tomb,

"He has risen from the dead!"

Tragedy turned into triumph! Weeping turned into Joy!

Anthem #6: On the Third Day

Praise the Lord! Jesus the Savior, once FORSAKEN, is alive forevermore!

Anthem #7: Hallelujah Chorus

A church-wide prayer meeting (in Chinese) will be held monthly (Wednesday following

Lord's Supper Sunday) and focus on praying for the Senior Pastor selection.

Pray for GBC's Search for the New Senior Pastor

Our current Senior Pastor Stephen Lee will retire in June 2015. May God grant the Senior Pastor

Selection Committee and deacons wisdom and discernment to go after God's heart.

GBC brothers and sisters are asked to help by prayer:

1. On the Wednesday following each month's Lord's Supper Sunday, there will

be a special prayer meeting at time in Coleman Hall (in Chinese) to pray about

the new Senior Pastor. GBC encourages brothers and sisters to fast for dinner

on those Wednesdays and to pray for Gods will.

2. The first Saturday of each month will be a church-wide prayer day. GBC

brothers and sisters are asked to choose one of the day's meals to fast and pray

for the search for the new senior pastor.
