decision, emotions, mood, people skills, and even job performance

• tremendous impact of your “heart"

• guard your heart!

• @Prov 23:7 for he is the kind of man who is always thinking about the cost. "Eat and drink," he says to you, but his heart is not with you.

• Proverbs 22:17 - 24: 22 has 30 sets of the words of wise men. 23: 6-8 is the eighth, Warning people not to eat the food provided by the "stingy man", similar to verse 1-3 of the delicacies of the greedy rulers

I. God reminded us:

• a stingy man — for he is the kind of man who is always thinking about the cost. "Eat and drink," he says to you, but his heart is not with you.,

• When the guests realized what kind of a person the host is, he wants to spit it out what he ate, feeling really stupid!

heart, for it is the wellspring of life.”

• “Above all else, guard your heart….. (the most important thing, is to guard your heart)

• “Keep your heart with all vigilance”(full alert)

• People should guard their own heart, for it is the wellspring of life (the heart is a fountain)

• our lives is the product of our hearts

• Proverbs 4:23 tells us that the most important priority thing in life is to guard your heart

III. guard your heart: How?

• God's Prescription:

• 1 nourish your heart -- strong heart

• for nourishment, you have to eat, to drink, take nutrition

• A. Eat, drink the word of God

* a God's words are the most nourishing to our hearts

Ps 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.

Ps 19:8 The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.

Ps 19:9 The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous.

Ps 19:10 They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb.

Ps 19:11 By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.

• Ps 12:6 And the words of the LORD are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace of clay, purified seven times.

• God's Words are the purest, most organic, non-toxic, most nutritious, also help you detox

* b. how to eat and drink the word of God?

• To read, to meditate, and to memorize!

• Ps 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.

• Ps 1:3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

• Deut 6:5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

• Deut 6:6 These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.

• Deut 6:7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

• Deut 6:8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.

• Deut 6:9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

B. craving the word of God ----- cultivate a good appetite for the Word

• 1Pet 2:1Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

• 1Pet 2:2Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation,

(1) You must be determined to choose the right food

"Pure spiritual milk ----- word of God.”

  (2) to eat and drink the word of God, is to read the Word of God

appetite will grow

• God's Word help us to grow and mature, give us wisdom, give us comfort, strength and hope!

2 cleanse your heart, healthy heart• purify yourselves by obeying the the Word of God

• 1Pet 1:22 Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart.

• Ps 119:9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.

• John 8:31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.

• John 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

3 follow the Lord -- protection of our heart

• John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

•                   When Dawn appears, the darkness fled,

•                   When Light appears, it drives away all darkness

• Jam 4:8Come near to God and he will come near to you.

• Ps 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.

• Ps 139:24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Conclusion: a better life starts from the "heart"

• Prov 23:7 for he is the kind of man who is always thinking about the cost.

• Prov 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.
