Hamamatsu Sukuinushi Kyokai (HSK) (Hamamatsu Church of the Savior) is a Protestant group of Christians who are very dependent on God! We believe He is great, good, and holy! Anyone who has a desire to know Him and seeks fellowship with others is welcome to attend this church.

Dear Members and Friends of HSK: Well, I thought it was going to get a little cooler for part of each day but…not yet. However, this week we might see a little more change in the weather. And, I am glad we were not being hit by the typhoon which went up the east side of America last week…or maybe it is still moving today. And…the protests in Hong Kong are much like a big typhoon I think….a political typhoon. I am praying that perhaps hundreds will not die if China invades that city. Let’s pray for the peace of God to come to Hong Kong. Last week, I was really hoping that the message would be finished closer to noon but…as you saw, that didn’t happen. And thank you for patiently listening to the end! I really feel that we can be living very differently after stopping lusts from controlling us and refusing to be afraid…and believing that God is for us and not against us. Did I hear someone say, “Amen!” So, today will be part two of the message which I believe God is speaking to you and me! After about 2 years of listening to an American pastor via You Tube, I have noticed that he often says that church leaders must stop be politicians. At first I thought his words were so strange because I have never thought of a pastor as a kind of politician. But what does a politician do? He listens to what people want and don’t want. He listens to what people like and

dislike. And then he tries to do what makes the majority of people satisfied. And that is exactly what a church leader can do. He or she can listen to what people like or don’t like and then try to do what makes the majority of church members satisfied. Conclusion: I am a pastor and not a politican. I will tell you what God wants and doesn’t want. I will tell you what the Holy Spirit says to keep or throw away. And what can we expect by listening to God Almighty and obeying His voice? Joy will be genuine…peace will be long-lasting…hope will satisfying. I am not a poltician. On the 15th or 16th of this month, Ruth-san and I will fly to Honolulu for a few days and then go on to other places in America. During our absence can I trust you to do a few things? Example: Come to church with a stronger desire to sing…Listen to each speaker with expectation to hear God…Make the fellowship time a good experience for others. I am convinced we are getting closer to touching the power of God. Let’s not become less passionate. Thank you again for sharing and giving and praying for your church. I think the new members are so special. And soon there will be more new members. And soon there will be another new song! This is exciting for me. Your pastor…..Ben

You can hear the pastor’s message…in several languages with your cellular phone. First, download the app ‘ABELON Client’. Next, connect to HSK via Wi-Fi: hsk/1 (password:song1234) or hsk/2(password:song5678). Finally, open the app and click the language you want to hear. Set the ‘latency’ to 100. You should now be hearing the translation of our pastor’s message in your language.

The next Joy Club…will be this Saturday(14th)! No pool party for kids but…there will be something good to play and eat! The next program will include prayer, Bible verse, singing, Bible story, crafts and game. Let’s do it! The Joy Club train leaves at 10:30 AM.

As announced last Sunday…the Ugandan Children’s Choir (Watato) will return to sing and dance in Hamamatsu a n d K a k e -gawa…Octo-ber 2nd and 4th! There is no admission fee but the n u m b e r o f seats are limited…about 100 each at two churches. This will be a great experience for your friends who are not Christians yet! More information can be found in the SKI stand. Volunteers are needed. Please talk to Yukio-san today.

The next deacons’/overseer meeting…will be next Sunday, 15th.

This will be a very important meeting beginning at 1:30 PM. All deacons should be at this meeting! Your pastor

will discuss what will happen during his absence!

To all who return from the Philippines with a little gift for the pastor: (Ha! Ha!) This is the most delicious snack…Rgies Butterscotch Squares…Mango Bits! Wow! He really

likes these things! ( “Pas to r, you a re asking for something t o e a t f r o m t h e Philippines?” “Well…!)

Two weeks ago…the church purchased a much needed piece of equipment for presenting church meetings which are shown ‘live’ on the Internet. This video mixer is not working properly yet but…h o p e f u l l y t h e presentations will be much better in the near future. Before our pastor returns, an American family of 4 will visit HSK because they saw you singing to the Lord on the Internet!

Please, if you are an adult with no children…come a little early and park your car in the #2 parking area. (Maps to this parking area are in the church

foyer!) The #1 parking area is full every week and a visitor will have a d i f f i c u l t t i m e

finding a parking space! Let’s not allow this to happen! Please and thank you!

Volunteers are needed to…operate a computer, audio mixer, and video mixer which are used every Sunday morning. If you are interested in serving your church this way, please talk to our pastor soon! You may not know how to use this equipment but you can learn quick-ly.

Gospel work in our day must be more than jus t l i t t l e s tor ies , doct r ina l presentations, and polite lectures. It must carry a sense of God’s living power. It must show a living Holy Spirit who is still active on the earth. We hear endlessly about the growing menace of the occult and Satan’s hold on people. But if Satan is alive and working in the earth, can we not expect the living, all-powerful Spirit of God to work also? That is what the writer of Hebrews indicated when he said the message of salvation “was first announced by the Lord…and God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His will”. In other words, the antidote to satanic schemes is twofold: the Word of God and a demonstration of the Holy Spirit power. When people visit our churches today, they need to see something happening

that reinforces the message of salvation. They need to meet a reclaimed alcoholic, the reunited family, a former homosexual who has been turned around, a sick person who has been healed—something that bears witness to a living, powerful Savior. We must pray as never before, “Lord, come down to us and work with the word we preach. Stretch out Your hand as we deliver the message You gave us.” We must rearrange our busy personal and church schedules to make time for what the church at Antioch did when “they ministered to the Lord” (Acts 13:2). In our times of waiting, prayer, and fasting, God will faithfully respond to our need to have more of Him. The ministry of any church is absolutely hopeless without the Holy Spirit. We have no talent or ability in ourselves that will do the job. Only the Spirit of God can help us make a difference for Jesus Christ.

Please pray for a friend of Tomoko-san, Atsumi-san. She is dealing with cancer and needs a miracle.

Morita Susan-san is asking prayer regarding a financial problem. God has promised to be her provider. Let’s pray.

Please keep Pastor Ben in your prayers regarding his neck pain. He is believing for a touch from the Lord.

Let’s keep praying for New Life School in Phnom Penh. God is able to supply all their needs. A generous offering for the school was received last week!

Please pray for Ozasa-san’s ears. He is experiencing some pain.

The relationship between the USA and China is not too good at this time. Please pray!

We all have family members who are not saved yet! Let’s pray for them this

week. This week will you pray for Ronaldo &

Andea’s son, Luan-san? May he come to know Jesus soon.

Nhors-san is wanting to bring her daughter, Tricia-san to Japan. May a visa be given soon. Let’s pray.

Will you pray again for all the single mothers in HSK. May all their needs be met by the Lord.

Please pray for Tomoko-san’s relative, Yamada-san. She needs to come to know Jesus and healing from cancer.
