According to the market demands, CS2C is developing a model for custom configured Linux system. With the model we can build customized system according to the requirements of the users rapidly, the technology involved including:

Custom TechnologyBy the method of defining the atomic modules and partitioning the sets for the modules of all hierarchies to research the system architecture and the relationship between the software packages, develop hierarchical model and dependency graph for modules . The atomic modules and compound modules in the Linux operating system should be defined, and their direct dependency relation, independent relation and multi-level dependency relation should be found out.

Custom Technology

As shown in the figure, I,J,K,H are atom modules, while the others are compound modules. A directly depends on B and C. A also depends on E and I but in a muti-level way. The degree of the dependency relation of A and E is 2, of A and I is 3. There's no dependency relation between A and D.

Custom Technology From the view of users, a whole system is composed of four

layers, which from the bottom to the top are : hardware layer, kernel layer, supporting library layer and application layer. While for developers, each layer can be described by a module relation graph composing all the functions and the relations among them in this layer. In the same way, the relations between layers can also be described. Therefore, the whole system can be described by a series of atom modules, compound modules and the modules dependency relations in a graph.
