22 Mothers Graduate, Trained to Save their Babies

Jesus said: “I was sick and you visited me…” Restore a Child’s work is totally following

our Master’s call to care for the sick. We partner with several Adventist hospitals in

Africa and Haiti to provide the proper medical care for sick children. In addition, we

partner with the Nutrition Center at Bere Adventist Hospital in Bere, Chad for the past

eight years. YOU, our donors have helped us save thousands of sick and starving

children. Zachary Gately writes: “Without your help we would not be able to save so

many lives of children.” The mobil clinic is doing a great job filling the need of the poor

and sick people who cannot walk 30 miles to come to the hospital. We also support

the training of mothers so they

can learn how to feed their

babies. 22 mothers graduated in

June, after 24 weeks of training

and saved the lives of their

starving babies. Thank you our

faithful donors for the impact of

your gifts of love. You will hear:

“Well done faithful servant…”

Chairman Dr. Jonathan Kuntaraf Retires

Summer 2016

Restore a Child Board of Directors Elects Dr. Larry Blackmer, North

American Division Vice President of Education, as NEW Chairman.

Dr. Blackmer has been a very active member of the Board, with ut-

most support for Restore a Child. We look to many years of progress

and growth through his leadership and dedication to the cause of

poor and orphan children.

NEW CHAIRMAN ELECTED for BOARD of DIRECTORS

The Board expresses deep appreciation to Dr. Jonathan

Kuntaraf, who served a total of 10 years: 5 years as Chair-

man of the Board and 5 years as member of the Board. No

words can express our gratitude for such selfless service

and generous spirit. But we are pleased that he chose to

remain as member of the Board, although he retired from

the General Conference and moved from the area.

A Dream for Ukraine Realized YOUR Gifts at Work—Tanzania

Dr. E.G. Moses spends several months each year in the

Ukraine and has been Restore a Child’s representative

in identifying s hundreds of needy families with children

with special needs in refugee camps and an orphanage

where children go to school without school supplies.

Because of the war with Russia children are orphaned

and live and hardly have enough to eat or go to school.

We need your help to feed children and send them to

Adventist schools to learn about God and have a future.

Even the schools need remodeling and equipment.

There is a need to build an Adventist school in Luviv,

but thank God for generous donors, the Bainum Family

Foundation, who gave us a matching grant to help build

part of the school. Your donation will be doubled im-

mediately. So please help us match $61,000 before

beginning of the school year, September 2016.

We wish to thank the Bainum Family and Dr. Wilfried

Busse of Sligo Church in Maryland for their generous

grant.

Children have suffered enough at their tender age. They

deserve basic needs and go to school. Thank you for

helping us give the suffering children in the Ukraine a

chance to have a future. Many of the children have

disabilities and need medical care. Many children live

with a single mother after losing their fathers in the

war. It is not easy to find a job in the Ukraine. People

are refugees in their own country.

Education is Key to break the cycle of poverty.

Restpre a Child was blessed to partner with Dunya Ya

Heri (Land of Blessing organization) with Thomas Kue-

sel and his wife from Germany to build an orphanage

in Tanzania for children whose parents died of AIDS.

The first home is

completed. We

need to build

four more. First

photo outside of

home, the other

is inside the

home. Children

will occupy the

home early Au-

gust 2016.

Dr. Mitchell

Davis continues to help us with planting fruit trees for

sustainability. 2,500 fruit trees are to be planted and

400 have been planted already. Vegetables are grow-

ing to feed the children. Thank you for being a bless-

ing to the Land of Blessing. We invest in a safer world

for now and for generations to come as the children

continue to perpetuate the love and kindness you

show them.

Bashir Hasso Mission Institute YOUR Gifts at Work

Dr. Davis donated for the third year in a

row for the planting of fruit and nut

trees in Argentina, Haiti and Tanzania.

1,000 of the 5,000 fruit trees have been

planted in the above countries. Thank

you Dr. Davis from Washington D.C.

Dr. Mitchell Davis Farm

It was a great privilege for the Founder to travel to Misiones,

Argentina, to check on the progress of Bashir Hasso Home and

Dr. Mitchell Davis Farm where 2,500 trees will be planted, 450

have already been planted. Norma had a chance to work in

the garden and dig the soil.

She also with our partners Warren and Jodi McDaniels and the

volunteers under training visited the destitute Guarani chil-

dren. It was terribly cold in June in Argentina with frost in the

morning, yet as you can see many of the Guarani children had

hardly any clothes and no shoes and were hungry.

Restore a Child Mission: to provide food, clothing, medical

care, education and teach them about God’s love for them.

The first home still needs $20,000 to be completed. We need

your help to build four more homes each at $50,000. If you

would like to dedicate or name one of the homes after a loved

one you can pay in two installments now and next year. Write

to me and let me know: [email protected]

Our Chairman the board traveled to Manado, Indonesia on

May 10, 2016 to inaugurate this new training center. Already

classes in sewing, computer and cooking and agriculture have

started. Students also were trained in construction while

building the center which both helped the young people learn

and also saved us money. This center is next to the May Hasso

Home we built in 2015 for 42 orphan girls

This is one of several orphanages and projects Restore a Child

is operating in seven different islands in Indonesia with 250

orphan children. 180 young people have been baptized. 35

students are now in university and 25 have already graduated

from university and giving back in their communities.

Thank you for your generosity. You are writing eternal stories

and giving hope to thousands of destitute children worldwide.

Your reward will be 100% dividend on your investment now in

lives being saved for now and eternity. Thank You ALL.

The Whole Gospel

Restore a Child believes in the development of

the physical, mental and spiritual needs of ALL

children. We make it a priority to instill in the

young minds the truth of the gospel and the

love of the Creator so they can develop their

character to be trusted future leaders. If you

want to invest in lives for eternity, help us fulfill

our responsibility to the Master who said: “Let

the little children come to ME and forbid them

not..”

Saving Girls from Trafficking

Cleomene is the third girl we saved from trafficking in

the last few months in Haiti. Her mother was mentally ill and

abandoned her as an infant. When she became old enough to

carry stuff at age four, she worked as a child porter for several

years until she was sold as a slave to people who abused her.

She ran away to the orphanage we support our engineer Jo-

seph Valcin built with his funds in Petite Riviere d”Artibonite

Cleomene is safe and

Joseph’s wife is teaching

her with the other girl who

Was saved from trafficking

who never went to school

to be ready for next

school year. We promise

Cleomene that we will

protect her, take care of

her and provide quality

Christian education so

she can have a future and

give back to children in

her community

Please help us save more

girls from Trafficking.

Thank you..

Just think what an

Impact you will have on

Her life now and life

In the future.

VERSACARE Grant $40,000

We want to thank ALL our donors who are helping us build our

first home in Bohoc, Haiti. Thanks to VERSACARE grant we

were able to work on the roof which is half done. We still

need your help to complete the roof by the end of July as En-

gineer Joseph Valcin has put building his own home on hold

for two years to help us build Restore a Child Academy in Bois

Pin now with 200 students and also help us build the multi-

purpose buildingin 2015 and this first home in 2016. Valcin

has retired and wants to build the home for his wife who has

been waiting patiently for two years. Thank you Mrs, Valcin

for sacrificing your husband’s time with you so you both can

impact lives of children. Valcin has already built a home for

orphans and a school with his own funds in Petite Riviere

d”Artibonite, Haiti. He has been training young men in con-

struction as he builds our homes and schools.

The do fast is God’s true fast according to Isaiah58:6-7: “Is this the fast that I

have chosen? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry...and when you

see the naked, that you cover him…” Also Isaiah 1:17 “… defend orphans”

The do fast (do = defend orphans) is a 24-hour annual fast that falls on the

second Sabbath in November to commemorate World Orphans Day. Ever

year in October the world places special focus on the #1 public health issue

of world hunger, known as World Hunger Action Month, to address the one

billion people who face perpetual hunger, and the six million children who

die of hunger every year. The do fast is in partnership with the North Ameri-

can Division Education, Ministerial and Youth Departments. The GC added

orphans as a Biblical mandate and invited Norma Nashed as member. Of the

General Conference Task Froce for orphans. Finally after 17 years!

Learn more with our FREE toolkit and Activities at restoreachild.org/dofast.

Encourage your school or church to participate in SS classes, schools, Path-

finders, and youth groups. Be part of “do” by defending orphans.
