Ika-7 ng gabi sa huling araw ng buwan ng Oktubre.Buhat sa taimtim na pagdarasal ng rosaryo pagkatapos ng prosesyon ng imahe ng mahal na birhen sa simbahan ng Quiapo, bilang paggunita sa pagtatapos ng Buwan ng Rosaryo, tumayo na si Daniel upang umuwi. Sa malapit sa pinto ng simbahan, sinalubong siya ng isang matandang babaeng gusgusin na sumisigaw habang ang mga kamay nito ay nakaturo sa kaniya.

“MAKASALANANG SUMASAMBA SA MGA HUWAD NA DIYOS. HUNGHANG NA LUMULUHOD SA BATONG IMAHE. PARURUSAHAN KA NG DIYOS SA ARAW NG PAGHUHUKOM. HA! HA! HA! HA!”

Sa labis na pagkabigla, wala ni isa mang salitang namutawi mula sa bibig ng binata. Nanatili siyang nakatitig sa papalayo ng matanda. Napalingon siya sa imahe ng Mahal na Ina na nakatayo sa gawing kaliwa ng simbahan. Ang imaheng kani-kanina lamang ay inalayan ng dasal ng maraming mananampalatayang Katoliko.Isang dalagitang nakiisa rin sa selebrasyon sa simbahan at nakasaksi rin sa nangyari ang lumapit sa binata at nagtanong.

Isang tanong na nagpabalik sa diwa ni Daniel sa kasalukuyan. Isang tanong na nag-iwan ng malalim na palaisipan sa binata. Isang tanong na baon niya sa pagtulog hanggang kinagabihan.
