• Automated Number Plate Recognition System (May, 2012 – July, 2012)
o Developed an algorithm which isolates the number plate and identifies the characters from
an image(vehicle) such as logo or model type that may be present in the image
o Demonstrated robustness against poor quality test image for which standard algorithms fail
• Motion Segmentation (Aug, 2011 – Nov, 2011)
o Devised an algorithm to track the motion and segment the largest moving object in a video
o Replaced moving object by any desired image by establishing one to one correspondence
o Constructed a Gaussian pyramid to nullify minuscule motions and avoid distortions
• 3-D view based TV using Microsoft Kinect camera (Aug, 2011 – Nov, 2011)
o Developed interactive control for virtual 3 D screen based on physical movement of user
o Implemented graphical part using Open GL library and software part in C
o Used OpenNI and NITE libraries to process and analyze data obtained from depth sensor
• Face Recognition Based Attendance System (Aug, 2012 – Nov, 2012)
o Developed an attendance system for a large class based on Face detection and recognition
o Explored existing techniques like Voila-Jones, shape context and Eigen-faces
o Implemented Independent Component analysis and performance was tested on MATLAB
