Fact oneDirk Hartog was born in 1580.

Fact twoHartog was baptized on the 30th of October 1580.

Fact fiveHartog set foot on land for the first time in a while.

He found nothing of interest to him this is what he said not much here no trees, no water, no gold, nothing, still better claim the land for Amsterdam.

Fact sevenHere he placed a pewter plate with a message inscribed on it.

Fact eightWilliam de Vlamingh found Hartogs pewter plate and placed his own and took the original back too Amsterdam.
