Course Description

Primary 1
Enrolment:All young learners need to show proof of their school class. Kindergarten
and Primary 1 and 2 students are placed in a class according to their
school class; Primary 3 to 6 students will need to take a placement test
for placement in an appropriate class.

(2) Take a placement test
Primary 3 to 6 students will need to take a placement test for placement in an
appropriate class. A placement test:
• takes approximately 60 minutes
• can be booked and paid for online 14 days before your preferred day; for
more details, please visit www.britishcouncil.org.hk/placement
• has a non-refundable fee of HK$65
• takes place at the British Council, 3/F, 3 Supreme Court Road, Admiralty, Hong Kong
• result is valid for six months only.
(3) Registration
• In person: please visit our Customer Services Centre at 3/F, 3 Supreme Court
Road, Admiralty, Hong Kong.
• By postal (for Kindergarten and Primary 1 and 2 students only): please fill
in the registration form downloadable from our website
www.britishcouncil.org.hk/registration-form and send it to our Student Services
Centre with a copy of your child's student identity card or proof of his or her
school class and a cheque made payable to 'British Council'. We do not accept
post-dated cheques or cash.
• Online re-registration: If you are an existing student you can register through
our re-registration website: www.britishcouncil.org.hk/reregistration.
(4) Payment
• You can pay by credit card, EPS or by cheque made payable to 'British Council'.

Cambridge Young Learners English (YLE) Tests
The internationally recognised YLE Tests of Cambridge University
are specially designed to get children of primary school age and
upwards on the path to learning English. The tests, available at three
levels (Starters, Movers and Flyers), assess the communicative ability
of children in speaking, listening, reading and writing.
The 'Starters' exam is generally suitable for students from the end
of K3 (or from the age of 5) through to P2, while 'Movers' and 'Flyers'
are usually more appropriate for older children. Consult our Customer
Services staff or the class teacher for further assistance in choosing
the right exam for your child.

劍橋小學英語考試乃國際認可的英語考試資格，特別為小學生想進一步改進英語而設。這考試設有三個級別(Starters, Movers及Flyers)，評估學生在講、聽、讀及寫各方面的英語溝通能力。

Cambridge Young Learners English (YLE) Tests
The internationally recognised YLE Tests of Cambridge University
are specially designed to get children of primary school age and
upwards on the path to learning English. The tests, available at three
levels (Starters, Movers and Flyers), assess the communicative ability
of children in speaking, listening, reading and writing.
The 'Starters' exam is generally suitable for students from the end
of K3 (or from the age of 5) through to P2, while 'Movers' and 'Flyers'
are usually more appropriate for older children. Consult our Customer
Services staff or the class teacher for further assistance in choosing
the right exam for your child.

We are happy to launch new Middle Primary courses for P3 and P4
students to accompany our successful Upper Primary courses for P5 and
P6 students. Students are grouped according to age and language
proficiency and are tested* to identify the class that best meets their
language learning needs. These courses include:
• an integrated literacy focus to extend English language learning in context
• project work to develop co-operative learning styles
• an emphasis on spoken fluency to enhance confidence
• student self-assessment to foster self-management
• a focus on enhanced communication between teachers and parents.
We offer three Middle Primary (MP) levels.
Course fee HK$3,200 (Mon to Thu) / HK$3,500 (Fri to Sun) per semester
Course length 17 weeks, 25.5 hours (September and February semesters)One 1.5-hour lesson per week

Cambridge Young Learners English (YLE) Tests
The internationally recognised YLE Tests of Cambridge University
are specially designed to get children of primary school age and
upwards on the path to learning English. The tests, available at three
levels (Starters, Movers and Flyers), assess the communicative ability
of children in speaking, listening, reading and writing.
The 'Starters' exam is generally suitable for students from the end
of K3 (or from the age of 5) through to P2, while 'Movers' and 'Flyers'
are usually more appropriate for older children. Consult our Customer
Services staff or the class teacher for further assistance in choosing
the right exam for your child.

Enrolment:All young learners need to show proof of their school class. Kindergarten
and Primary 1 and 2 students are placed in a class according to their
school class; Primary 3 to 6 students will need to take a placement test
for placement in an appropriate class.

Primary 3 to 6 students will need to take a placement test for placement in an
appropriate class. A placement test:
• takes approximately 60 minutes
• can be booked and paid for online 14 days before your preferred day; for
more details, please visit www.britishcouncil.org.hk/placement
• has a non-refundable fee of HK$65
• takes place at the British Council, 3/F, 3 Supreme Court Road, Admiralty, Hong Kong
• result is valid for six months only.
(3) Registration
• In person: please visit our Customer Services Centre at 3/F, 3 Supreme Court
Road, Admiralty, Hong Kong.
• By postal (for Kindergarten and Primary 1 and 2 students only): please fill
in the registration form downloadable from our website
www.britishcouncil.org.hk/registration-form and send it to our Student Services
Centre with a copy of your child's student identity card or proof of his or her
school class and a cheque made payable to 'British Council'. We do not accept
post-dated cheques or cash.

The 'Starters' exam is generally suitable for students from the end
of K3 (or from the age of 5) through to P2, while 'Movers' and 'Flyers'
are usually more appropriate for older children. Consult our Customer
Services staff or the class teacher for further assistance in choosing
the right exam for your child.

劍橋小學英語考試乃國際認可的英語考試資格，特別為小學生想進一步改進英語而設。這考試設有三個級別(Starters, Movers及Flyers)，評估學生在講、聽、讀及寫各方面的英語溝通能力。
