Each title’s introduction gives a good overview of what is to come. —Library Media Connection The Black Experience in America: From Civil Rights to the Present This edition to the African American History and Culture series is notable for the depth and breadth of its coverage… it’s hard to find a single-volume title that covers so much. —Booklist The Environment, Ours to Save (series) Global Warming Complex information is broken down into short chapters with lively sidebars including striking photos, diagrams and maps. —Booklist “…the books are clear, concise, and colorful.” —School Library Journal The Britannica Guide to Africa (series) “…excellent. ” — School Library Journal America at War (series) Each volume is well organized, with a liberal sprinkling of photographs, short biographical sketches, and primary source documents… this well-prepared series will be of value to readers for both classroom assignments and personal interest. —VOYA World War I: People, Politics, and Power Interesting text, good organization, well-chosen black and white archival photographs, color illustrations and maps, and a few color photographs all combine with attractive format and design features to make this a good choice for students. An excellent resource and beginning point on the subject.. —K. McIntire, Selwyn School The Islamic World (series) This new series takes the reader through Islamic history beginning with the prophet Mohammad to the spread of the faith throughout the world, the major tenets of the faith, and the intriguing history of Islamic arts and literature.
