To receive the Sacraments at Holy Redeemer Parish

You or your family need to be a registered member of the Parish for at least six months prior the date of the sacra-ment to be received. The registration and regular attend-ance to the mass will be taken from the collection enve-lopes placed in the basket at the offertory. Starting the 2018-2019 catechetical year the children and their family need to be registered in the parish to have their children in the Holy Redeemer Catechetical program. If coming from outside the parish to receive the sacraments will need a letter of permission from the par-ish of provenience

Para recibir los Sacramentos en la Parroquia

Usted necesita ser miembro de la parroquia y frecuentar regularmente la S. Misa por un periodo de almeno seis meses antes de la recepción de el Sacramento . Al mo-mento de registrarse en la parroquia empezara a recibir por correo los sobres para su donativo semanal para el mantenimiento de la parroquia y de las obras parroquia-les. Empezando desde el ano de catequesis 2018-2019 los niños y sus familias necesitan ser miembros registrados de la parroquia para poder participar en los programas catequéticos y recreativo de la parroquia; la registración parroquial se puede hacer en el mismo momento que se hace la inscripción al Catecismo. Proviniendo de otra Parroquia necesita traer carta de su párroco para bautizar o casarse en Holy Redeemer

The Corpus Christi, Body of Christ, parish procession will take place on the Day of The Solemnity JUNE 2 . The procession as usual will begin at at Our Lady of Libera, immediately following the 12noon Mass. We will move from Our Lady of Libera Church toward St. Mary’s where there will be an Eucharistic Station and will continue toward St. John’s Nepomuceno ,where will end with a solemn Benediction. The children who received first communion this year will process in front of the Blessed Sacrament, spreading flowers on the street. Everyone is invited to start collecting flowers petals and preserve them in zip lock in the fridge and bring over to the Church for the day. The Eucharist will testify of our unity as a only parish, we are three but we are one ! Thank you El proximo 2 DE JUNIO vamos a tener la annual procession para la Solemnidad del CUERPO DE CRISTO. La oprocesion empezara en la Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de la Libera pronto que se acabe la S. Misa de las 12, y caminara hacia Sta Maria onde tendremo la estacion eucaristica; en seguida continu=eremos hacia S. Juan Nepomuceno onde se terminera con la Bendicion Solemne. Este sirve para recorder nos que es la Eucaristia que nos hace de los muchos un solo cuerpo y que es el fundamento de el amor y unidad de las tres Iglesia que forman la Parroquia. Los ninos que hicieron la primera comunion este ano caminaran en frente del SS. sacra-mento echando al suelo petalos de flores. Por esta razon pido a todos los feligreses que impezen a regoger pet-alos, los guarden en un zip lock en la nevera y lo lleven este dia a la parroquia para preparer los canastos. Muchas gracias

TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION

The disciples gathered on the fiftieth day after the Resurrection were not keeping their first Pentecost. For them, Pentecost was the fiftieth day after Passover, a feast of the first fruits of the harvest. It was the second most important feast of the year. Today, Jews gather on the eve of the feast to study scripture and the law, and after the feast begins at sundown, spend the day in joy-ful social gatherings. The meaning of the celebration is the giving of the law on Mount Sinai, so for Christians the connection to the gifts of the Holy Spirit is obvious. In Sicily and in the Pantheon in Rome, today the de-scent of the Holy Spirit is enacted with a stunning ritu-al. Some churches there have an “eye” in the roof open to the sky, called an oculus. After the Gospel today, thousands of rose petals fall from the oculus onto the assembly. Churches and homes are decked in greenery and flowers to express the new life the Holy Spirit brings on this, the “birthday of the church.”

Mediante el pan y el vino consagrados, en los que está realmente presente su Cuerpo y su Sangre, Cristo nos transforma, asimilándonos a él: nos implica en su obra de redención, haciéndonos capaces, por la gracia del Espíritu Santo, de vivir según su misma lógica de entrega, como granos de trigo unidos a él y en él. Así se siembran y van madurando en los surcos de la historia la unidad y la paz, que son el fin al que tendemos, según el designio de Dios. Caminamos por los senderos del mundo sin espejismos, sin utopías ideológicas, llevando dentro de nosotros el Cuerpo del Señor, como la Virgen María en el misterio de la Visitación. Con la humildad de sabernos simples granos de trigo, tenemos la firma certeza de que el amor de Dios, encarnado en Cristo, es más fuerte que el mal, que la violencia y que la muerte. Sabemos que Dios prepara para todos los hombres cielos nuevos y una tierra nueva, donde reinan la paz y la justicia; y en la fe entrevemos el mundo nuevo, que es nuestra patria verdadera. También esta tarde, mientras se pone el sol sobre nuestra querida ciudad de Roma, nosotros nos ponemos en camino: con nosotros está Jesús Eucaristía, el Resucitado, que dijo: «Yo estoy con vosotros todos los días, hasta el fin de los tiempos» (Mt 28, 21). ¡Gracias, Señor Jesús! Gracias por tu fidelidad, que sostiene nuestra esperanza. Quédate con nosotros, porque ya es de noche. «Buen pastor, pan verdadero, oh Jesús, piedad de nosotros: aliméntanos, defiéndenos, llévanos a los bienes eternos en la tierra de los vivos». Amén.

Fifty days after Easter Sunday we celebrate the fulfillment of all God’s promises in the feast of Pente-cost, a feast that has sometimes been called the birth-day of the church. One last time we are reminded that we Christians have received the Holy Spirit, not for our own benefit, but to enable us to follow our Chris-tian vocation. The centerpiece of the scriptures for Pentecost is the account in Acts of the Apostles of the sending of the Holy Spirit to the disciples. The other readings for this Sunday help us to understand what it means to live out our Christian vocation. Paul’s letter shows us the gifts and fruits that the Holy Spirit gives to us. John’s Gospel reminds us that Jesus has sent all his disciples to share his forgiveness and peace, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
