Community Get-togethersAs we celebrate another holiday season, wouldn’t it be nice to

spend a little time relaxing and socializing with those very near to us…our neighbors! Let’s remember to take time to include each other in our celebrations. It doesn’t need to be fancy or big. What matters is reaching out, connecting, and having fun!

Bring copies of your favorite fall recipes to exchange with neighbors and get a head-start on the holidays. Exchange coupons, holiday decorating ideas, and talk sports. Do whatever! Just get together!

Good times together make good neighbors and create memories that last a lifetime.

Board MeetingThe next HOA Board of Directors Meeting will be held

December 11, 2012 at the fire station located at 150 Bunton Creek Road in Kyle on the east side of I-35. The open portion of the meeting will be from 6:30pm to 7:00 pm. Details will also be provided on Hometown Kyle’s website.

We Need You!Want to be part of keeping Hometown Kyle a great place to

live? We need your talents. The Social Committee needs a new chairperson, but there are a variety of ways to participate.

Contact the board via the website or contact Marilyn Childress with Goodwin Management to find out how you can participate.

Safe and SoundWe have recently heard of theft activity in Hometown Kyle where

unlocked cars left out are being targeted. At this time, we have not heard of damage or vandalism to the

vehicles. The thieves are looking for unlocked cars sitting out, and are removing the loose contents they find inside. Unfortunately, this can include extra keys, mailbox keys, and garage door openers. Another popular target for thieves is paperwork that can be used for identity theft.

Take precautions. Park your vehicles inside your garage if at all possible. If not, hide any items left in your car and secure your car by rolling the windows up and locking all the doors. Leave front outside lights on all night to reduce the dark spaces criminals can hide in.

Law enforcement officials ask for our partnership in keeping Kyle a safe and enjoyable place to live. The local police ask that we report any suspicious activity we see immediately by calling 512-268-3232 or 911 if it is an emergency.

Don’t be an easy mark. Let’s work together to make Hometown Kyle undesirable to criminals.

Let’s Wrap it Up!It’s not your hamburger wrapper or your empty bottle or

styrofoam cup or plastic bag. You didn’t put it there, and you’re not the trash collector. But, from time to time trash makes an appearance on our streets. Please be that awesome neighbor that does his or her part to keep our subdivision as clean as possible.

A homeowner has recently complained of the community’s landscape workers blowing trash onto properties as they blow the clippings. These complaints are misplaced. Many of us have trash and debris show up in our yards on streets where the landscape company never works. The maintenance workers are not putting the trash out there. Trash can only be blown onto properties if it already exists in the road. If you notice litter, please pick it up…even if it’s not yours.

Your family deserves to live in a nice and clean community. And remember, concerns and complaints need to be

There is still some time until the first of the year, but how about getting a head start on the most common New Year’s resolution. Whether it’s to lose weight, get in shape, or improve your health, why not meet your neighbors while doing it?

In case you missed this article last month, we are reprinting it to ensure you are not surprised with a violation notice.

Avoid that dreaded violation letter! Make plans now to get your trashcans out of sight!

A little over one year ago, the City of Kyle required us to organize waste into 3 separate trashcans. The board of directors at that time realized this would require some time for us to make arrangements to store them out of sight as stated in our Codes, Covenants and Regulations (CC&Rs). A grace period was established while people figured out their new solutions. During the transition, the board granted a temporary exception to the CC&R’s, allowing for the trashcans to be stored in front of the homeowner’s fence, but behind the air conditioning units.

We now need to finish making the transition to the 3 trash cans and ensure they are stored out of sight per our CC&R’s. This can include inside garages, in the backyard behind the fence, or in front of your fence but behind some screening, such as lattice fencing, small fences, shrubbery, etc… Please make sure to request approval of any additions to your front yard from the Architectural Control

Committee (ACC) before installing.Until the first of the year, trashcans visible in front of the fence,

but stored behind the air conditioning units will still be acceptable.However, by January 1, 2013, all trashcans must be stored out of

sight. At that point, violations will again be distributed for trashcans that are visible.

The most common complaints from fellow homeowners, as well as the most common violation issues, are related to yard appearance and visible trash cans. Details make a difference, and attention to those details keeps our neighborhood looking great! Please do your part to keep Hometown Kyle looking its best.
