El horario de misa de verano termina el próximo fin de semana, 1 de septiembre. El 8 de septiembre re-anudaremos nuestro horario normal de misas: sába-dos a las 4pm, inglés y 6pm, español, domingos a las 9am, inglés, 11:45am y español, 2pm

COLABORACIÓN SAN BENITO La Parroquia San Benito comenzará a funcionar como una colaboración para Discípulos en Mision el 1 de junio de 2020. En este punto estamos en la etapa 8 del proceso. Como colaboración, se nos pedirá asistir a algunas sesiones de capacitación y, eventualmente, escribiremos un plan para la evangelización en nuestra parroquia. Por ahora, oremos por nuestra parroquia para que sigamos abiertos a la obra del Espíritu Santo entre nosotros. OFICINA CERRADA LOS VIERNES DE AGOSTO Durante el mes de agosto, la oficina parroquial estará cerrada los viernes.

CELEBRACION DE VIRGEN DE COROMOTO El domingo, 15 de septiembre a las 2pm, tendremos en nuestra parroquia la celebracion de la Virgen de Coromoto, patrona de Venezuela. El evento comienza con la misa de 2pm seguido por la celebracion en el hall de escuela. Todos son invitados.

SECOND COLLECTION THIS WEEKEND With such high temperatures, we continue to need your financial help with the air conditioning costs of the parish. The second collection this week will help us pay for the repair that had to be done this year and the high electricity costs. Thank you for all your help.

SUNDAY CATECHESIS REGISTRATION Sunday Catechesis registrations will take place on Sunday, August 25 at 10am in the catechesis office in the convent. Please bring a copy of your child’s/children’s Baptismal certificate. Catechesis will begin on Sunday September 15th at 10am.

SUMMER MASS SCHEDULE ENDS NEXT WEEKEND The summer Mass schedule ends next weekend, September 1st. On September 8th we will resume our normal Mass schedule: Saturdays at 4pm-English and 6pm-Spanish, Sundays at 9am-English, 11:45am Spanish and 2pm-Spanish.

ST BENEDICT COLLABORATIVE St. Benedict Parish will begin to function as a collaborative for Disciples in Mission on June 1, 2020. At this point we are at stage 8 of the process. As a collaborative, we will be asked to attend some training sessions and, eventually, we will write a plan for evangelization in our parish. For now, let us pray for our parish that we will continue to be open to the work of the Holy Spirit in our midst.

PARISH OFFICE CLOSED FRIDAYS IN AUGUST In August, the parish office will be closed Fridays.

CELEBRATION OF THE VIRGIN OF COROMOTO

On Sunday, September 15, we will have in our parish the celebration of the Virgin of Coromoto, patroness of Venezuela. The event begins with the 2pm Mass followed by the celebration in the school cafeteria. Everyone is invited.

NO MASS ON LABOR DAY On Monday, September 2nd, there will be no 8am and 7pm Masses.

Twenty-first Sunday

in Ordinary Time Isaiah is speaking on behalf of the Lord,

directly to us: “…proclaim my glory among the

nations.” This might seem like too much of a

challenge. Take a few minutes to ask God to

whom should you be proclaiming God’s glory?

Is it a family member, a co-worker or a friend?

Tell YOUR story of the importance of Jesus in

your life. And, in case we think that task is for

someone else, the Church in her wisdom

reminds each one of us in today’s psalm

refrain: “Go out to all the world and tell the

good news!”

Isaías nos está hablando directamente a nosotros de parte del señor al decir: “… procla-marán mi gloria entre las naciones”. Esto po-dría parecer como un reto demasiado grande. Dedica cinco minutos para preguntarle a Dios ¿a quienes debes proclamar su gloria? ¿A un miembro de tu familia, a un compañero de trabajo o un amigo? Cuenta tu historia sobre la importancia de Jesús en tu vida. Y en caso de que pienses que esta tarea es para alguien más, la Iglesia en su sabiduría nos re-cuerda en el salmo de hoy esta frase: “Id al mundo entero y proclamad el Evangelio”.
