A budapesti horvát nagykövetség nagyszabású fogadást rendezett a Horvát Államiság Napja és a Horvát Diplomácia Napja alkalmából a Stefánia Palotában. Őexc. Gordan Grlić Radman, a Horvát Köz-társaság magyarországi nagykövete megbízatása végén ugyancsak ezen az eseményen vett búcsút a magyar politikai, gazdasági és társadalmi élet vezető személyiségeitől, a diplomáciai testület tagjaitól, a horvát kolónia képviselőitől és Horvátország barátaitól, akik nagy számban voltak jelen.

A nagykövet ünnepi beszédében kiemelt helyet kapott a történelmi múltban gyökerező, kiváló horvát–magyar kapcsolatok és a sokrétű együttműködés értékelése, amely négyéves elhivatott és hatékony munkájának köszönhetően tovább bővült. Megemlítette, hogy a leg-szebb emlékekkel távozik ebből a csodálatos országból, ahol az első pillanattól kezdve otthon érezte magát.

Áder János köztársasági elnök javaslatára a Magyar Érdemrend középkeresztje kitüntetést adta át őexc. Gordan Grlić Radman nagy-követ úrnak Íjgyártó István, a Külgazdasági és Külügyminisztérium kulturális és tudománydiplomáciáért felelős államtitkára. A rangos kitüntetést a magyar–horvát kapcsolatok ápolása, a két nemzet kö-zötti párbeszéd és barátság erősítését szolgáló tevékenysége, példaér-tékű kezdeményezései elismeréseként kapta a távozó nagykövet.

A Diplomata Magazin szerkesztősége nevében további sikereket kívá-nunk nagykövet úrnak diplomáciai karrierjének következő állomásán, mint Horvátország új berlini nagykövete.

On the occasion of the Croatian Statehood Day and the Croatian Diplomacy Day a grand reception was organised by Croatian Em-bassy of Budapest in the Stefánia Palace. At the end of his tenure H.E. Gordan Grlić Radman, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Hungary also bid farewell to the leading personalities of Hungarian political, economic and social life, the members of the diplomatic corps, the representatives of the Croatian colony and the friends of Croatia who attended the event in great number.

In his ceremonial speech the Ambassador praised the excellent Croatian-Hungarian relations rooted in the historic past and the manifold cooperation, which thanks to his devoted and efficient work expanded during his four-years term in Hungary. He mentioned that he would leave this beautiful country with the best memories, as he had felt at home here since the very first moment.

Upon the recommendation by János Áder, President of Hungary, István Íjgyártó, Minister of State for Cultural and Science Diplo-macy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade awarded H.E. Gordan Grlić Radman with the Hungarian Order of Merit, Com-mander’s Cross. The medal was awarded to the leaving Ambassador for the cultivation of Hungarian-Croatian relations, the strengthening of the dialogue and friendship between the two nations and for his exemplary initiatives.

On behalf of Diplomatic Magazine we would like to wish the Ambas-sador further success in his next posting, in Berlin as the new Ambassador of Croatia.
