POP/IMAP Server Settings for Faculty/Staff: Incoming Server: www.access.lsus.edu Authentication: username / SSL on Port 993 Outgoing Server: smtps.lsus.edu Authentication: username / SSL on Port 587 Students IMAP Server Settings for Students: Note: POP3 is not available for student accounts. Incoming Server: studentemail.lsus.edu Authentication: studentID / SSL on Port 993 Outgoing Server: smtps.lsus.edu Authentication: studentID / SSL on Port 587 *These settings are the same across all versions of Outlook* *Your Outlook client might look different*

1. Choose “Account Settings” from the “Tools” menu. Under the “Email” tab select new. Choose “Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP,or HTTP.”
2. Check the box labeled “Manually configure server settings or additional server types.” Click Next.
3. Select “Internet E-mail.” Click Next. 4. Enter your information as follows:
Your Name: Your Name
E-mail Address: [email protected]
Account Type: IMAP
Incoming Mail Server: www.access.lsus.edu
Outgoing Mail Server: smtps.lsus.edu
User Name: [email protected]
Password: YourPassword 5. Click “More Settings.” 6. Under the “Outgoing Server” tab check “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires
authentication.” 7. Under the “Advanced” tab set:
Change “Incoming server (IMAP)” to 993.
Change “Use the following type of encrypted connection” to “SSL.”
Change “Outgoing server (SMTP)” to 587.
Change “Use the following type of encrypted connection” to “Auto.”
At this point the account should be able to send and receive email.
