OBITUARIESRobert BrierlyRobert Joseph “Bobby” Bri-

erly, 68, of Milton, Ky., died Thursday, April 11, 2013, at his residence.

He was born July 16, 1944, in Trimble County, Ky., to Robert Ernest and Sally Kate Fitzger-ald Brierly. He resided most of his life in Trimble County, Ky. He was first united in marriage to Linda Temple on Oct. 22, 1966. He was later untied in marriage to Shirley E. Gaines on Oct. 19, 1990. He worked early in life at the Sunoco Ser-vice Station in Trimble County. He was employed for more than 40 years as a machinist with Reliance Electric Company in Madison. He was baptized in and was a member of the Corn Creek Baptist Church. He was a member of Union Local 1109 International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers. He enjoyed watching television, wrestling, University of Kentucky athletics and mow-ing the grass. He was awaiting the birth of his seventh great-grandchild.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley E. Gaines Brierly; one son, Michael Joseph Brierly of Milton, Ky.; three daughters, Melissa Brierly Kendall of Milton, Ky., Melissa Jo Sharon of Erlanger, Ky., and Janet Nevins of Madison; two sisters, Linda Miller of Hanover and Brenda Dahlem of Madison; 10 grandchildren; six great-grand-children; one aunt; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Allen Brierly, who died Nov. 25, 1995; his parents; two brothers, Ernest Brierly and Donald Brierly; and one grandson.

The funeral will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will be in New Castle Cemetery in New Castle, Ky.

Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 3 p.m. until the service.

Paul KingPaul Clarence King, 94, of

Hanover, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital.

He was born April 17, 1918, in Jefferson County, to Shelby C. and Sylvia Wilhelm King. He resided most of his early life near Hanover and was a 1936 graduate of Saluda High School. He attended electrical trade school and was a licensed electrician. He served in the Navy during World War II, ris-

ing to the rank of Electrician’s Mate, First Class. He served in the Seabee’s and was hon-orably discharged March 17, 1946. He was a member and worked as an union electrician with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 481 for 67 years. He was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church, the Masons, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and the Murat Shrine. He enjoyed his farm, hunting, fishing and traveling.

He is survived by two sons, Eric King of Gurnee, Ill., and Earl A. King of Indianapolis; one sister, Mina Firth of Madi-son; one granddaughter; and five nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia “Jenny” West King, whom he married Dec. 9, 1946, and who died Dec. 18, 2003; his parents; three sisters, Opal Richmond, Dessie Ford, and infant Tressie King, who died April 14, 1917; two brothers, Howard King and Roy King; one grandson; and one nephew.

The funeral will be at noon Wednesday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. A private grave-side service and burial will be Thursday in New Prospect Cemetery near Hanover. Mili-tary honors will be conducted graveside by Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion.

Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service. A Masonic service will be conducted Wednesday at the funeral home by the Hanover Masonic Lodge 652 F. & A.M.

OBITUARIESFrossenia MillerFrossenia “Kitty” Miller, 76,

of Ft. Myers, Fla., died Tues-day, April 16, 2013, at Health Park Hospital in Ft. Myers, Fla.

She was born Dec. 28, 1936, in Hazard, Ky., to Steven Kalfas and Martha Hicks. She spent her early years living in Milan, before moving to Madison where she was cared for by Mrs. Reed. She was a 1955 graduate of Madison High School. She worked as an administrative assistant to the superintendent of Madison State Hospital for 40 years. She enjoyed volunteering at church in many activities and was a former member of the Ryker’s Ridge Baptist Church, a member of the Calvary Bap-tist Church and an associate member of Southwest Baptist Church in Fort Myers, Fla. She was a co-organizer of the Jefferson County Day of Fort Myers. She enjoyed singing and sharing her talent with oth-ers as a member of the Sweet Adelines of Fort Myers, Spirit of the Gulf. She was a member of the former Madison chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron. She was an auxiliary member of Gideon’s Interna-tional and participated in the Macedonia Ministry of the American Baptist Association.

She is survived by her hus-band, Dale L. Miller, whom she married Oct. 31, 1975; one daughter, Saundra Scott of Marietta, Ohio; one son, John Graham of Fishers; one step daughter, Deborah Earnhart of North Vernon; one step son, L. Dale Miller of Woodbridge, Va.; two sisters, Nina Speairs of Fort Worth, Texas and Pat Kappel of Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandchildren; three step grandchildren; one great-grand-daughter; one step great-grand-daughter; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Emmanuel Kalfas; and one step grandson.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Calvary Baptist Church or Southwest Baptist Church. Contribution cards are avail-able at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, which is in charge of arrangements.
