    Difference:

    In a traditional system, text messages received and sent are saved in the Inbox andSent folders respectively. In an Android system, text messages exchanged with the

    same contact are grouped in the same thread.

    Benefit:

    Messaging in an Android phone is similar to chat using instant messaging servicessuch as MSN Messenger. It helps you browse your chat history more quickly andconveniently.

    1.4.7 How do I delete a text message in a message thread?

    Touch and hold the message to be deleted until the Message options menu isdisplayed, then select Delete message.

    To delete all messages, touch > Delete thread.

    1.4.8 What is the function of locking a message?

    A locked message will not be deleted when you delete messages in batches.

    If you delete a batch of messages among which some are locked, the confirmationdialog box will provide an option for you to choose to delete locked messages.

    1.4.9 How many text messages can be saved on my phone?

    The total number of messages saved on your phone is dependent on the phone

    storage.

    Touch > Settings > SD card & phone storage > Internal phone storage.

    A thread can contain up to 999 text messages. However, by default threads are set tocontain 200 text messages.

    To set the number of text messages that threads can contain, touch Messaging >

    > Settings, choose Delete old messages and then touch Text message limit,

    and set the text message limit.

    The keystroke sound is related to the input method. In the specific input method menu,you can disable the keystroke sound.

    Touch > Settings > Language & keyboard. Select and set a text input method.

    Disabling the keystroke sound does not affect the incoming call ringtone and textmessage ringtone.

    1.5.1 How do I send a multimedia message?

    Touch Messaging > New message.

    If the size of a picture is too large, it will be automatically compressed before it isattached to a message. As a result, the resolution of the picture attached to themessage is lower.

    1.5.3 Why does my phone fail to send or receive a multimedia

    message? How can I solve this problem?

    If less than 10% of your phone memory is free you cannot receive a multimediamessage.

    Solution: Delete unnecessary files from your phone to free up memory.

    If data services are disabled, you cannot send or receive multimedia messages.

    unavailable?Yes, you can. Pictures or videos will be saved to the phone memory when the SD cardis unavailable.

    The default save path of pictures is sdcard/DCIM/Camera.

    When the SD card is unavailable:

    The save paths cannot be changed.

    Pictures, audio files, videos, text files, web pages, or contacts can be transmitted viaBluetooth.

    Touch File Manager orGallery and select a file to be sent.
