A very PANDA thank you to ALL the volunteers who made this year’s Vacation Bible School a great success. Thank you to all the parents who sent their children to VBS this year as well. We had a great time and hope to see you next year. If you didn’t come this year please be watch-ing the bulletin for our dates next year and plan on joining us!
FAITH FORMATION - ALL GRADES
Pre-Registration is still available until July 1st for all Faith Formation sessions. Our next registration dates are Sunday August 14th and 21st after all Masses in St. Francis Room. Faith Formation will resume Sunday, Sept. 11th.
IMPORTANT CHANGE!! — YOUTH MINISTRY MOVES TO SUNDAY Youth Ministry grades 6 – 12 will meet on Sundays, from 4:30 – 6:00PM next year ra-ther than Wednesday evenings. We hope this change will help the youth and parents with scheduling struggles.
If your child is eligible for the reception of First Communion and Confirmation they must be attending Faith Formation on Sundays or a Catholic School. ALL students must register with the Faith Formation Office for Sacraments. Please call Philomena Johnson in the Faith Formation Office with any questions.
The Faith Formation Office will be closed for the month of July. We wish you and your families a very safe and blessed summer vacation.

Holy Orders is for single men answering the call to priesthood. CONGRATULATIONS! Blake Rey and Ariel Mathias received the American Legion School Award at graduation ceremonies on May 28, 2011.
The award best exemplifies the characteristics of Courage, Honor, Leadership, Patriotism, Scholarship and Service.
The students received a trophy and framed certificate. Presentation was made by Bill Seemann, Past Commander American Legion Post 152.
We had a great turnout for our recent Blood Drive held on Sunday, June 12 and were able to collect a total of 37 units! This is an increase in collections from the June blood drive last year! On behalf of our community, the patients and the Desrochers family who are very grateful that we held the Blood Drive in their daughter Sara’s honor, thank you for your lifesaving support!

Colecta Peter’s Pence 2011
Hoy apoyamos al Santo Padre en sus labores caritativas. La Colecta Peter’s Pence se realizará hoy en todo el mundo para ayudar a las personas más necesitadas: a las víctimas de guerra, de opresión y de desastres naturales y a otras que necesitan ayuda de emergencia. El Papa Benedicto XVI nos ha dicho que “ es necesario que todas las
personas actúen animadas por el auténtico espíritu de paz” (Homilía, 1° de enero de 2011). Así estaremos esparciendo la paz de Cristo por el mundo—por favor, sean generosos en la Colecta de hoy. Este viernes se celebra la fiesta del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, que vuelve a reflexionar sobre el inmenso amor de Dios y recuerda a las familias el modo en que deben tratarse unos a otros. Muchas familias hispanas tienen la costumbre de entronizar el Sagrado Corazón en sus casas como signo de su deseo de que en ellas reine el amor. El sábado se celebra el Inmaculado Corazón de María.

EXPOSICIÓN DEL SANTÍSIMO SACRAMENTO
Tenemos la Exposición del Santísimo Sacramento todos los primeros viernes aquí en Nuestra Parroquia de 8:30am hasta las 6:15pm en la capilla y de 7:30pm a 4:30am para luego concluir con la Misa a las 5:00am. Esta es una excelente oportunidad para que nos acompañen en oración. Por favor procuren mantener un ambiente de ORACIÓN y
SILENCIO durante la Exposición en la capilla.
Reflexiones para la homilía
N o hay reunión o fiesta en la que no haya algo que comer y beber. Parece que los seres humanos no nos podemos
relacionar sin ir hasta lo más fundamental de la vida diaria: el alimento. Es ahí donde nos unimos sin importar las diferencias que puedan existir entre nosotros. Todos comemos. Cuando compartimos una comida, parece que los desacuerdos se desvanecen y encontramos una base común donde podemos ser hermanos y amigos.
En los relatos del evangelio vemos cómo frecuentemente se presenta a Jesús comiendo: con sus discípulos, en casa de sus amigos, en la llanura multiplicando los panes y los peces para que todos puedan comer. Y a menudo también Jesús habla del reino de Dios en términos de un gran banquete o fiesta de bodas. La imagen de la comida, tan familiar para todos, no importa de qué cultura o raza sean, es algo comprensible y querido. No amenaza a nadie e invita a todos.
Se dice, por otro lado, que somos lo que comemos. Es, en cierto modo, una explicación científica, pero que Jesús aprovecha para hacer incluso más fuerte la realidad de su entrega en la Eucaristía.
Por eso es muy apropiado que Jesús quisiera utilizar una comida para dársenos enteramente. El darse en cuerpo y alma es la entrega más completa y perfecta que nadie pueda hacer. Y eso es lo que hace Jesús en la Eucaristía. Se nos da en cuerpo y sangre para que podamos ser lo que comemos: El Cuerpo y la Sangre del Señor. Si somos el Cuerpo del Señor, nos entregamos en amor a Él y como él a todos. No es fácil entregarlo todo: cuerpo y alma. Exige un olvido total de sí mismo, una flexibilidad extraordinaria para dejar las cosas propias y prestar atención a las necesidades de los demás, una apasionada disponibilidad para ir a donde sea necesario y hacer lo que sea necesario. No es cómodo, no es fácil. Pero es lo único que da vida verdadera. Porque alimenta a los demás. Para la reflexión ¿De qué maneras puedo ser pan para otros? ¿Cómo me acerco a la Eucaristía? ¿Cómo son nuestras comidas en la casa?

FIESTA DE LA FE Pan
El pan es un alimento ordinario, es propio de ricos y pobres. Hay que trabajar para conseguirlo. Así como es de real, tiene mucho de simbólico. Papá y mamá se alegran en poder llevar a casa el pan de los hijos, para compartirlo con todos, indistintamente de su grado de bondad. Para los judíos del Mediterráneo, el pan, mezclado con aceite era el elemento más común de su alimentación. El pan de trigo lo comían los ricos, mientras que los pobres comían el pan de cebada. Aún así, el pan es sabroso y lleva en él la providencia divina que cuida de nosotros. Se recibe, incluso, de manos de los pobres, quienes comparten su propio pan porque saben lo que es carecer de él. Al compartirlo, cumplimos el mandato de Jesús: “tomen y coman”. Por eso es que nuestro pan se ha de poner en la mesa, para ser compartido, sólo así tiene sentido.
