START BUTTONThe indicator lights up during operation, flashes when a fault occurs and goes off atthe end of the programme.
START BUTTON RESET FUNCTIONPress this button for at least 2 seconds; the selected programme and options arecancelled. Main failure displays (repeated flashing of the STARTindicator lamp) can be
cancelled by RESETTING. Detailed instructions are given in chapter What to do if....
1) Programme data obtained in conformity with European standard EN 50242, obtained under normal conditions (without additionaloptions) and may vary depending on conditions. Differences of up to 20 minutes are possible with sensor programmes as a result ofthe appliances automatic calibration system.

How to set water hardness
*only before the first washor if thewater hardness has been changed
Switch on the appliance
- Select the 2nd programme P2 - consult the table of programmes.- Press the START button for at least 5 seconds until the START indicator lamp flashes.- The w ater hardness setting is shown on t he display (if present) or the START button flashes.- With each successive touch of the START button t he setting increases and w hen it reaches 7 it returns to 1 again.- The appliance must be switched off to memorise the new setting.
Even if you use tablets which include salt,you must still add sa lt since suchdetergents are not effective enough atsoftening hard w ater.
Water hardness level is factory set formedium hard water (a number 4 isshown on the display or the STARTindicator lamp flashes 4 t imes).

How to adjust upper rack height(if available)
- It could be useful to lift up upper rack to have more space inlower rack or bring it do wn to load long stem glasses.
- Grasp and take out the tw o lateral handles (E) (must be on samelevel) and lift up or take down the upper rack.
How to remove upper rack (if available)
- It could be useful to remove upper rack to load bulky items inlower rack.
- Open the two retainers (F) to take off the upper rack. Whenthe upper rack is in place the retainers must always be closed.
Arrange crockery so t hat w ater does not collect in cavities, ensuring that t he spray arms turn freely. O nly use dishwasher-proof crockery and dishes. D o not use the dishwasher for washing wo oden
items, aluminium, tin, silver cutlery or decorated crockery (unglazed). In the baskets, dishes (e.g. plates, bow ls, pot s) must be placed in a correct way to let water flow dow n!

8Exercise caution w hen opening the door: beware of hot steam.
Only press the OFF button once the START indicator lamp has switched off.
All the indicator lamps switch off. Unload the appliance, sta rting from the lower rack in order to avoid any residual drips of wat er falling onto crockery below .
Maintenance and careMaintenance and care
Change the programme in progress:
Press the START button (for 2 seconds) until the START indicator lampswitches off.
Close the door.
(Water drains for up to 60 seconds).
Open the door.
Select a new programme.
Press the START button.
Overview of programmes
The max. possible number of programmes is illustrated in the chapter Chart. The corresponding programmes for your appliance can be found on the panel (page 1).
Choo se programme according to the att ached table of programmes (page 1).
Duration of t he programme depends on the external conditions in the apartment, temperature and pressure et c.
The dishwasher door must be closed and the w ater t ap open.
To load cro ckery, open the doo r w ith caution:
Close the door again.
The programme resumes the cycle from w here it w as interrupted.
Beware of hot steam!
The wash cycle can be interrupted at any time by START (see chapter What to do if ).
