SIN IS SINMemory Verse: 1 John 5:17a

“17a All unrighteousness is sin...”

BIBLE PASSAGE: 1 John 3:1-10

INTRODUCTION:

Various names have been give to sin. Some call it mistake or failure

while some call it weakness. Whatever name you want to call it, sin is

sin. Sin simply means disobedience to the Almighty God.

Outline 1:

GENESIS AND DEFINITION OF SIN.

Sin started with Satan – Isaiah 14:12-14. It then entered the world

through Adam and Eve because they listened to the devil and

thereafter disobeyed God. They doubted God’s love and His word and

looked at what God had forbidden and ate it – Genesis 3:1-8

There are certain things called sin as stated in the following passages:

- 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Romans 1:29-31, 1 Timothy 1:9-11,

Colossians 3:5-8.

Outline 2:

RESULTS OF AND FREEDOM FROM SIN.

Out of many results we will outline only three:

1. Death – Romans 6:23

2. Punishment – Matthew 25:46. The sinner will be separated from

God and will be tormented forever.

3. Hell - Matthew 25:41

Nobody can hide his sin from God. Sin at all times will always be

discovered – Jeremiah 2:22 – e.g. Adam, Cain, Ananias and Sapphira.

The joy, however is that a sinner can be freed from sin. Jesus Christ

with His powerful blood can wash clean - Ephesians 1:7, 1 John 1:7.

CONCLUSION

Since no man’s sin can be hidden. It is only wise that for the sinner to

be free there is need for him to be washed clean in the blood of Jesus -

1 John 1:7.
