A drone fulfils its role of recognizing and encoding target images and then destroying them. But the longing of a conscience creeps in, instilling the desire to establish a personal relationship with the images.The dialectical tension between imposition and autonomy of vision, between human, mechanical and superhuman, of vision, between human, mechanical and superhuman, unfolds in the scenario of a new ice age marked by the countdown of a time emancipated from the algorithmic and mathematical rhythm, dictated by natural codes. The secular time of nature is flanked by the mathematical time of the algorithm that imposes on the drone the codes of deciphering and translating the landscape. The gap between time and consciousness is a game of The gap between time and consciousness is a game of coding that moves towards self-destruction.

DEEP SELFIE is an installation designed for one room and available for just one visitor at the time, featuring low frequencies as soundscape.Once entered the room, the visitor is immediately dazzled Once entered the room, the visitor is immediately dazzled by two spotlights standing out in the overall dark room, and located at human average height. While moving forward in the room, attracted by the low frequencies and the dazzling lights, the visitor makeits way to the bottom of the room where a filled water tank is placed; drawn near the tank, the visitor can see the own projected altered reflection on the watethe own projected altered reflection on the water, as result of the tank water vibrations and the different camera frame perspective. The experience of DEEP SELFIE delivers an unsatisfied sense of vanity in the majority of visitors. Two main archetypal entities cross their paths through the installation, such as the myth of Narcissus and the Freudian Thanatos, intentionally combined the Freudian Thanatos, intentionally combined in the installation to dialogue with oneself’s Ego.

Politiche Naturali is an AV exhibition conceived for three adjoining rooms.The first room is permeated by high frequencies (18000 hz), usually produced by wireless devices, meant as soundscape and combined with visuals of natural and human images, and combined with visuals of natural and human images, altered by the high frequencies present in the room.In the second room utilizes medium frequencies (1000 hz), mediating between the first and the third room.The third room finally features subsonic frequencies (20 hz): the same produced by our planet Earth, suitable for humans and all the others living species; the frequencies are combined with a visuals of a volcanic eruption on screen projection.with a visuals of a volcanic eruption on screen projection.Il Pavone artists tackle often psychological and environmental topics in their practice, displaying in Politiche Naturali how the concept of body and the frequencies as natural elements, assume political value. By exaggerating these aspects and placing three different kinds of frequencies, two of them literally harmful for human health, Il Pavone artists invite to reflect on the ongoing global electromagnetic pollution to reflect on the ongoing global electromagnetic pollution and the course of its effects on the human nervous system, and on the environment.

Levanzo Community FestLevanzo Island 20/072017

July 2016: The small community of Levanzo Island is mourning for the tragic death of some people. During our 14 days of art residency in concurrence with this tragic event, we filmed many performances realized by Iby IL PAVONE to create a video installation, which has been projected on the main entrance of the island's cemetery. During this experience, we decided to enquire about those aspects of human existence beyond daily routine, deeply entangled with symbolism and imagination through rituality.
