In 2007 I started writing a thesis about photography
in graphic design, because photography and art
theory were something I grew up on and graphic
design was my life. The research resulted in a model
of visual languages, which embody the core of
graphic expression means. Also the implementation of
photographic means in graphic design was highlighted.
The thesis was defended on the academic board in 2011.

Velotrade Being honest - I love
biking. So when a company
specialized on bicycle
production asked me to
consult and later redesign its
brand I was really exhited. In
all identity cases I aspire to
dig the core idea of a brand
and comunicate it in clear and
bold approach. This time it
was turn of a bicycle frame to
become a hero of our tale.

Bizol The outer contours of the
redesigned jerry-can for
Bizol motor oil embody the
brand-relevant capital letter
“B”, thus visually uniting the
brand and the product. The
main achievement of the new
packaging is that its optimised
form prevents the slopping
of oil while pouring. Large
letters on the label are used
as a defining design feature.
This labelling scheme makes it
easy for users to differentiate
between the various kinds of
oil. Each type is designated
with a capital letter and an
identification colour. The
high standard of being a
quality German product is
highlighted by minimalist
lettering that is easily legible.

Ave plaza culture & trade center identity
This project was developed
for "Rustler" company
an international concern
specialized on real estate
management. During the
presentation to Austrian
stakeholders I was really
touched by a story from one
of the listeners. He mentioned
that Din typeface, I used for
the logo is familiar to him,
because he were drawing it in
school.

The Bar This logo was drawn during
a vacation in Italy and it
was very much inspired
by some really good time.
Every professional in creative
industries does know that
a good idea comes only to

1654 is a year when city of Kharkiv
was established. The logo symbolizes
a cornerstone, which was layed there
in far far 1654. And also the cafe itself
situated on the corner of a building in
a very center of a city.

By the way there are some
more heritage in the logo -
the typeface was taken from
a work of a well-known
Kharkiv avangarde artist Borys
Kosarev. Another feature of
this work is that the logo was
designed both in 3 and 2
dimensions.

Dia/logpoetry-postercampaign
This project was exhibited four times already.
First time it appeared on the streets of Kharkiv
in April 2015. Then it was showed in a city
gallery in July 2015. Later it travelled to Austria
and was exhibited in Salzburg Literature
House in September 2015. After a while it was
presented at ESC gallery during my workshop
with FH Joanneum students. It happened in
December 2015.

A poet acts when he writes, a designer –
when he draws, so poster event “Dia/Log”* is
a design action as a response. The posters of
the series are antiposters – they don’t contain
any slogans and can’t be read on the run. They
need to be contemplated and read like poetry.
In no case are they an attempt to illustrate the
text, they are parallel visual rhymes that are
intertwined with words, and just like images
and meanings appear between words and
characters in poetry, they appear in graphics
between black and white, between a dot and a
line. This is a dialogue between text and image,
between an artist and a poet, between the
audience and what it sees.
*dia/diya – from Ukrainian «дія», which means “action”
The project has gained a lot of attention from media

4th Block International Eco-Poster Triennial
International Triennial “The 4th Block” is a
unique designer’s exhibition, held every three
years in Kharkov – a second largest city in
Ukraine. Its aim is to bring together the latest
trends and innovations in international poster
design, displaying in each new exposition the
most recent poster art from all over the globe,
which has ecological objective or connotation.
The name “The 4th Block” comes from the
reactor number 4, which was destroyed in the
explosion in the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

VI 4th Block International Eco-Poster Triennial
Visual identification for the International
Triennial of Eco-poster “the 4-th Block”.
The oldest and the biggest poster festival in
Ukraine. Once a famous Ukrainian designer
Ira Olenina has wrote on a press release about
the festival: “What is the 4-th Block? – The
flying horror on the wings of the night...”).
Yes, it is a huge job, it’s an incredible
deadlines, yes, we must have nerves of steel
and other parts of the body, but it is terribly
interesting. Besides, we really want to live on
this planet.

For this project I've printed 300 blank
posters, which had to be finished on the
places of their mountage. They were
finished by the trash which could be easily
found below. Thus the posters gained
attintion to the problems, which were
raised on the festival.

VII 4th Block International Eco-Poster Triennial
The main heroes of the identification for
the VII Triennial “the 4th Block” event
were plastic bags. The message is simple
and can be expressed in one sentence:
“If we are unable to get rid of rubbish -
well - let’s enjoy it.” This is our aesthetic
recycling.

Dante’s words “…to rebehold the stars”,
which could be found in the very end of his
“Hell”, became a statement of the festival.
XI Triennial was held in Kharkiv in 2015
despite crisis and war in Ukraine. The
barbed circumstances inspired us on idea
of the festival’s identity. Type projections
on black stars became a key visual element,
which connected all the materials
in a whole system.
