Examples of practice: secondary• Looked at columns, timetabling and choice booklets• In male-dominated subject N5 Physics, put all girls in
one class• Re-assessed the purpose of the choice booklets, what
information was presented, and the language used. • Any unnecessary jargon was removed• Skills and job focused format was agreed• All faculties agreed to all follow the same format• Removed columns on choice form
IMPACT: Girls increased in confidence and chose subject at HigherStudents engaged more with booklet and greater awareness of breadth of careers availableRemoval of columns led to much more free choice
