A Pre-Primary students slipped from the over loaded auto and got injured. This panicked me.

Over loaded autos crowd near school premises in the morning as well as in the evening.

I feel

Overloaded autos in front of our school I, Areeba, could not keep silent. So I discussed the problem with mom and later with my friends. All of us went to teachers. The Principal permitted us to watch the autos which come come with over loaded students and bags.We clicked the videos and photographs. We spoke to our schoolmates about their response on over loaded autos. Children below 6 years do not know what is happening.

Interaction with Auto DriversWe spoke to the auto drivers. They expressed their inability in reducing the number because with less number of students they cannot survive. They bring safely but the number is more which is not permissible. We spoke to the parents, they agreed to arrange another auto. They are ready to pay Rs.50/- extra their children’s safety.

Interaction with the ‘Traffic Police’ in their officeWe interacted with Traffic Police. We presented our queries like what steps do they take if they see over loaded autos? What is the maximum number? Why are they liberal sometimes, leave the people unnoticed?. The auto drivers who are with us for the past ten years were asked to motivate other drivers not to bring more than permissible number. The Principal changed timings for High School students during the beginning of the academic year to avoid rush at the school gate. Nearly one hundred fifty students arranged their own conveyance instead of sharing with other students. I am really contended to work upon this - “Design for Change.” The change we brought may be 5% still it is going to benefit some one.

This team effort may help us to take many more changes in our life. Thanks for making as a part of this venture.
