    FOOD

    India food is as varied as anything else in this country, there is no easy definition of anIndian meal.Indian food is often eaten with the hands, however, this custom is guided by some

    basic rules. In addition, only right hand may be used in eating.Since most India meal incule a kind of flatbread, that is traditionally used to scoop or rollvegetables or rice.

    Indian often eat their largest meals at midday, perfering to end with a light eveningmeal.If possible, many Indians like to come home for the midday meal.

    DRINK

    The most comon drink in India is tea. It is prepared with meal, sugar , a blend of ginger,nutmeg,cinnamon,cloves and cardamom. Most people often drrink with tea, calledchai for

    breakfast and in the late afternoon.An example of a common cold drink of India is lassi, which is a yoghurt or butter milk drink that

    is sweetened and flavored with rose,mango and served plain.

    FESTIVAL

    India, the land of varied cultures and traditions is a land of festivals and fairs. It is a landof festivity - religious as well as folkloristic. Whether you go to the East or the West,

    North or the South you would be able to enjoy every month a festival or a fair. Every dayof the year there is a festival celebrated in some part of the country. Be it cultural or religious, itgives everyone an opportunity to enjoy and join the festivity. Festival is the time to rejoice andhave fun.

    SOUVENIRS

    India is a very large country with a lot of diversity, so i think the souveneir should beaccording to the region you went, unless you want something that pertains to all of india.(if thatis possible).

    As you travel, get to know the culture. See the reoccuring elements of daily life. If you are insouthern india, buy some tea from the plantation areas. Also, make sure it pertains to thereceiver: If you have friends that like candy or soda... get some unique indian candy or sodas...some people will appreciate t-shirts more than others as well.

    As for yourself, try to remember your trip with a handmade indian craft or antique that willalways remind you of your travels. Don't just buy a pencil eraser from a gift shop... you'll use itor lose it. not very special.

    You can visit many other famous locations of India such as: Famous villages of India,famous cities, famous temples in India. For example , the blessed land of India summons visitorsto a world of romance and spirituality. The popular Khajuraho temple is situated in Madhya

    Pradesh. Khajuraho is a fascinating village with a quaint, rural ambience and a rich culturalheritage. The Khajuraho temples are internationally famous for the erotic sculptures that adornthe walls. Journey through the past: Khajuraho, the ancient "Kharjjuravahaka", was the main seatof authority of the Chandela rulers who accentuated the place with sculptural art andarchitectural marvel. The Chandela dynasty built eighty-five temples here. Today only twentyremain as an archetype of Indian sculptural art.

    You can also visit to the Ajanta and Ellora Cave which are the great tourists attractionlocated near the city of Aurangabad in Maharashtra. They are a part of the UNESCO WorldHeritage Site known for their exquisite carvings and structures presenting the fabulous creationof mankind.

    RELIGIONS IN THE COUTRY

    Hinduism accounts for 80% of the population of India.The second largest religion isIslam, at about thirteen percent of the population. Stating the hospitality of Hinduism towards allother religions, John Hardon writes, "However, the most significant feature of current Hinduismis its creation of a non-Hindu State, in which all religions are equal. Other native Indian religionsare Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism.

    Hinduism's origins include cultural elements of the Indus Valley Civilization, the Vedicreligion of the Indo-Aryans, and other Indian civilizations. Hinduism is often regarded as theoldest religion in the world, with roots tracing back to prehistoric times, or 5000 years.

    Hinduism is the largest religion in India; its 828 million adherents(2001) compose 80.4%of the population.

    Islam is a monotheistic religion centred around the belief in one God and following theexample of Muhammad. It is the largest minority religion in India.

    Christianity is a monotheistic religion centred on the life and teachings of Jesus as presented in the New Testament; it is the third largest religion of India, making up 2.3% of the

    population.

    Buddhism is a dharmic, nontheistic religion and philosophy. Buddhists form majority populations in the Indian states of Arunachal Pradesh, and the Ladakh region of Jammu andKashmir and a large minority (40%) in Sikkim.

    Being in contact in public spaces, Indian never handshake, hug or kiss. They often clasphands and bow to greet ech other . You should avoid speaking about the problem of individual,famine, the aid from other country.

    You mustnt open your gift when you are confronting with the person who presented thatgift to you. You mustnt pack the gift in black or white because they are unlucky colours for Indian. Instead of this, you should pack the gift in green, blue, yellow or red.

    The Islam thought that dog was dirty so you should never present to them the gift whichhas picture of dog. But Hinduism revered cow so you mustnt give the presents which made of ox-hide to them. When you visit to temples in India, you dont have to wear or bring the thingswhich made of ox-hide.

    The Hinduism never eat cowmeat because they see that cow as deities. Islam dont eat pig meat but they like eating cow meat.

    As one of the country of Asia, rice is the main dish of Indian. However, beside cantoneserice, from rice there are many dishes which are peocessed with fish, chicken, vegetables andelseWhen Indian eat food, most of Indian often pick up in right hand to eat.
