INDIAN ETHOS

• Ethos means « Set of Ideas »• Indian Ethos is based on Indian Scriptures i.e.

The Holy Bible, The Geeta, The Quran.• Indian thoughts eternal knowledge.• All works is worthy and honourable.• Emphasis on duties and responsibilities.


ETHICS IN RELIGION• Most religions have an ethical component, often

derived from purported supernatural revelation or guidance. "For many people, ethics is not only tied up with religion, but is completely settled by it.

• A central aspect of ethics is "the good life", the life worth living or life that is simply satisfying, which is held by many philosophers to be more important than traditional moral conduct.

CHRISTIAN ETHICS• Christian ethics in general

has tended to stress the need for love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness because of sin.

• Christian ethical principles are based on the teachings within the Holy Bible.


BIBLE TEACHING ABOUT TIME MANAGEMENT

• “Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men, but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil”

(Ephesians 5:15, 16)

• Time management is really activity management, because activities are what you plug into the day’s time slots. And, those selected activities are the steps toward achieving the

most of what God wants you to accomplish for Him.


BALANCING• Leviticus 19:36 "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.”

• In other words, the reason for honesty in business is not merely because it is a good idea or because it will result in repeat trade for the merchant. The reason is because the people are called to be holy as God is holy. Dealing ethically in business is one of the ways we emulate the character of God in our lives.


BEHAVIOURMatthew 7:12

"In everything do to others as you would have them do to you”

• Jesus made this statement as part of the Sermon on the Mount, and it has come to be called "the

Golden Rule."


RESPONSIBILITY• Luke 10:7

"... the laborer deserves to be paid.”• The statement, however, has a business application.

Occasionally we hear of a business leader who puts laborers, vendors or private contractors to work for him and then either does not pay them or takes so long to pay them they suffer real hardship. The practice is not only unethical, it is unbiblical.


ABOUT STRESS MANAGEMENT• Jesus was able to manage stress with dignity and integrity because he

maintained a clear sense of his Father’s purpose for his life as well as a willing submission to it. On the eve of his crucifixion he asserted, “Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason that I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!” (John 12:27-28). In Gethsemane, his soul was “overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death” (Mark 14:34), but he realized that his coming ordeal represented the very purpose for which he had come.


TIME MANAGEMENT• “Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart

of wisdom” (Psalm 90:12). • Time is precious, but we do not know yet how precious it really is. We will only

know when we are no longer able to take advantage of it…. Liberal and generous in every way, God in the wise economy of his providence teaches us how we should be prudent about the proper use of time. He never gives us two moments at the same time. He never gives us a second moment without taking away the first. And he never grants us that second moment without holding the third one in his hand, leaving us completely uncertain as to whether we will have it
