What is IPS?
• Evidence-based model of Supported Employment for individuals with mental illness
• IPS supports people in their efforts to achieve steady employment in mainstream competitive jobs either part-time or full-time.
• Individual consumer/job seeker:– Receive Comprehensive community services (CCS), Community
Support Program (CSP) or other approved case management program– Consumer must have primary diagnoses of serious and persistent
mental illness, alcohol, or drug abuse– Is provided with program and IPS model information and given the
choice to participate in IPS. – IPS programs makes referrals to DVR.
What is Different about IPS?
• IPS programs are approved by both DHS and DVR using specific criteria:
• Funding of services rules• Acceptance of Technical Assistance • Agreement to provide information about IPS to consumers• Services are provided in a team structure which includes a
designated DVR Counselor, and a mental health team with an embedded employment specialist.
• Long term supports following successful employment are provided by the county.
• IPS sites are scored for fidelity to the model to maintain approval to provide IPS services

Billing
Invoices must be received by DVR within 60 days of completion of the
services

delivered and accepted.
