    AIRPORT SOLUTIONS

    Indra Airports

Indra has a wealth of experience in theAirport IT systems, providing solutionsacross airport operations: ATC-Tower,Ramp/Airfield and Terminal.

Indra solutions provides modularity, operability and scalability. Thesesolutions are adaptable to differentrequirements, offering solutions forGreenfield, expansion, existing airportprojects, as well as multiple airport

    networks.

Our advanced airport solutions includewithin the operational environmentsystems the Airport OperationalDataBase (AODB)

    AODB general description

AODB is the core of the airportoperations management system. Itallows the integration of airport controlsystems, airport resource allocation andairport invoicing systems under a unique, friendly, fast and intuitive user interface.

The system gathers information from theair traffic control system (ATC systems),the slot assignment system (SAS) and, ingeneral, all operations related systems

within the airport, instantly updatingchanges to flights and the associatedairport resources.

AODB is the destination of all theoperational information generatedmanually or automatically by externalparties, as well as the unified informationsource for all airport users andstakeholders.

In multiple airport networks, Indras AODBcan be deployed using a centralizedarchitecture, simplifying the architectureallowing a single infrastructure serving

    multiple airports

    Features and benefits

Real-time system: Real-time system: - Centralised information system that

monitors all events at the airport inreal-time

    - Centralised Operations managementthat allows real-time interaction withall systems

Robust and reliable system, usingindustry standard technology, withmobile access capability

    Functional characteristics

AODB ensures that the main airportprocesses for Passengers, Flights andBaggage take place in a coordinated andsynchronised manner, as well as providingthe information needed by everystakeholder within the airport.

To achieve this, the operationalenvironment must follow the flightprocess along its full life-cycle.

AODB implementation is based on stateof the art standards J2EE and open

    architecture.

    Functional characteristics

CoreProvides basic essential AODBfunctionality such as: Real-timemanagement, System Administration,Basic Information Management andIntegration with external systems

ProgrammingFunctionality that generates seriesinformation in the systems such as flightsprogramming.SchedulingReal-time deployment of the operational

information in the programming modulesuch as flight scheduling

    AODB system

AODB modular architecture is fullyadaptable to any Airport requirementsand future expansion needs thanks to itsscalability. Therefore, AODB deploymentguarantees an optimum return ofinvestment for the whole Airport lifecycle.

AODB will fulfil CDM level 3 (informationsharing, collaborative management offlight updates and variable taxi times,pre-departure sequencing and CDM inadverse conditions).

    References

Indra developed its AODB as the corporateairport management system for Aena, which is the worlds largest airportoperator with a network of 62 airportsdistributed around Spain and LatinAmerica. The AODB is in operation in 47of AENAs airports and functions in bothremote and local operation, and varioussmall private airports in Spain and Africa.

AODB is currently in use in Aenas mainairports including Madrid Barajas andBarcelona El Prat, and is being rolled outto the GAP airport network in Mexico.

Operations scheduling: The interface that allows theoperator to administer the flight schedules for eachseason received from the slot coordination system

Real-time turnaround management: the operator isable to view and update real-time operational data

Airport resource allocation and management:Graphical interface for resource allocation status ofcheck-in desks, boarding gates, stands and baggageclaim belts, and the hosting allocation engine

Billing of airport services supplied to airlines andother clients. The key information is compiled andmaintained in the AODB to enable accurate clientinvoicing.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) reporting tomonitor the quality of service: application providesindicators and dashboards for the evaluation of theairport operation

Reporting of quality service indicators.Measurement of the airport operations process isfundamental in the deployment of a continuousimprovement process. The system allowsoperation indicators to be defined (such as

punctuality, number of cancelled flights etc.) witha corresponding acceptability threshold, therebyfacilitating advanced quality control throughalarm generation and notification of the relevantindicators.
