– Dehiscencia espontánea de una herida.– Absceso u otra prueba de infección bajo la incisión.– Signos locales de inflamación o fiebre > 38 oC.

PROFILAXIS CON ANTIBIÓTICOS
–ELEGIR ANTIBIÓTICO EFICAZ PARA LOS PATOGENOS MÁS PROBABLES.
– SELECCIONAR ANTIBÓTICO CON BAJA TOXICIDAD.
– ADMINISTRAR DOSIS ÚNICA I.V 30-60 MIN ANTES.
– 2DA. DOSIS SI OPERACIÓN DURA MÁS DE 4 HORAS.
– 2-3 DOSIS EN EL POSTOPERATORIO.
– LO MÁS USADO CEFALOSPORINAS DE 1RA Y 2DA.
– EN CASO DE RESISTENCIA VANCOMICINA

– No usar Metronidazol o Clindamicina para infección mixta.
