 Purpose

This information booklet is intended to help prepare young adult

carers through transition into adulthood. The booklet is designed to

provide young adult carers necessary information required to make

informed choices in regards to their dreams and aspirations. The

booklet contains information about local and national services that

they can access that might support them in achieving these hopes. It

will serve as a guide and point of reference for when they need help.

Also the booklet will hopefully equip young adult carers with skills

that will improve their personal, academic, professional and social

development. For instance being able to self-advocate, becoming

more confident in seeking help should the need arise as well as

developing independent living skills.

Further information and more detailed explanations of the local and

national service providers can be found as you browse through this

booklet. Please make good use of the booklet as it will prepare you to

handle different situations in your future.

National THE CHALLENGE The Challenge project gives great opportunity to young people to develop skills and experiences that help them towards achieving their lifelong goals. It delivers three programmes aimed at young people. Each of the programmes aimed at bringing people together from different backgrounds, giving them the experiences, confidence and networks to succeed.
