In 2003, José Graziano Da Silva was appointed as a special minister of food security and the fight against Hunger and led the Brazil’s “Zero Hunger Programme” which helped lift 28 million people out of extreme poverty. He headed FAO’s regional office for Latin America and the Caribbean between 2006 and 2011. In that role, he actively supported the “Hunger-Free Latin America and the Caribbean Initiative”, which made the region the first in the world to commit to totally eradicating hunger by 2025. He has been serving as Director-General of FAO since January 2012.
2003年、ブラジルの食料安全保障・飢餓撲滅特命大臣に任命され、同国の2,800万人の人々を極度の貧困から助け出した「ゼロ・ハンガー」プログラムの実行責任者を務めた。2006年から2011年にかけてFAOラテンアメリカ・カリブ地域事務所の所長を務め、「飢餓のないラテンアメリカとカリブ地域・イニシアティブ」を精力的に支援。同地域は2025年までに飢餓を完全に根絶することをコミットする世界で初めての地域となった。2012年1月よりFAO事務局長を務める。
Masanori Tanimoto, Governor, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan谷本 正憲 石川県知事Masanori Tanimoto graduated from Kyoto University’s Law School in 1968 and began his career in theMinistry of Home Affairs, Japan. Since then, he has held many positions including Director of Nature Conservation of Shimane Prefectural Government, Deputy Mayor of Miyazaki City, Manager of the General Affairs Department of Ibaraki Prefectural Government, Director of the Public Service Operation First Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs. He became the Governor of Ishikawa Prefecture in March 1994 and is currently in his fifth term as Governor.

He has been descr ibed by the United Nat ions Environment Programmes "the Father of Economic Ecology" because of his leadership of the ever-green revolution movement in agriculture and by Javier Perez deCuellar, Secretary General of the United Nations, as "a living legend who will go into the annals of history as a world scientist of rare distinction".

MISIA, Singerミーシャ 歌手A female singer representing Japanese music scene. She also dedicates to social actions, such as distribution program of bed nets and scholarship program for children in Africa. In 2010, MISIA was appointed as an honorary ambassador for the tenth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (COP10). In Ishikawa, she has implemented ‘MISIA’s Forest’ project to appeal the importance of biodiversity through conservation activities of forests.
日本を代表する歌手。活動の舞台は音楽にとどまらず、アフリカの子どもへの蚊帳の配布や就学支援など、社会貢献活動にも注力。2010年には、国連より生物多様性条約の会議(COP10)の名誉大使に任命。石川県においても、森の保全活動を通じて生物多様性の保全の重要性を訴える「MISIAの森」プロジェクトを実施。

Since then he has served as Councillor of Education in the Board of Education, Director-General of Commerce Bureau and Deputy Mayor of Nanao City. He became the Mayor of Nanao City in 2012 and is currently in his first term.

Parviz Koohafkan, President, World Agricultural Heritage Foundationパルヴィス・クーハフカン 世界農業遺産基金代表Dr. Koohafkan is the pioneer and coordinator of the UN Partnership Initiative on “Conservation and Adaptive Management of Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems （GIAHS）” funded by the Global Environment Facility, FAO, IFAD and several donors. Dr. Koohafkan is the author of several books and publications on biodiversity, agro-ecology, natural resources management, climate change and sustainable development.

Nobuyori Kodaira, President, Executive Vice President, Toyota Motor Corporation小平 信因 トヨタ自動車株式会社副社長Nobuyori Kodaira was born in 1949. He graduated from Tokyo University with a bachelor’s degree in economics and joined the Ministry of International Trade and Industry （MITI）. He has held many positions including Director-General for Agency for Natural Resources and Energy Policy, METI, and then in 2008, he joined Toyota Motor Corporation as an advisor. In 2012, he became an Executive Vice President of Toyota Motor Corporation.
昭和24年生まれ。東京大学経済学部卒業後、通商産業省入省。資源エネルギー庁長官等を経て、平成20年トヨタ自動車の顧問に就任。平成24年6月より現職。
Masuhiro Izumiya, Mayor, Suzu City泉谷 満寿裕 珠洲市長Masuhiro Izumiya was born in 1964. After graduating from the Faculty of Political Science and Economics, Waseda University, he began his career in Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. After he left the company, he served as President of Izumiya Kashiho and President of Suzu Seihitsu Co.,Ltd. In 2006, he became the Mayor of Suzu City and is currently in his second term.

Hiroki Ose, NHK News Commentator合瀬 宏毅 日本放送協会（NHK）解説委員室 解説主幹Hiroki Ose was born in Saga prefecture in 1959. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics, Yamaguchi University. After he began his career at NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation), he worked at NHK Kagoshima Broadcasting Hall, NHK Nagoya Broadcasting Hall, etc. He has produced TV programs such as “NHK Special”, “Morning Wide” and other economic TV programs. In 2009, he became a NHK commentator and has been in charge of economic issues mainly about Food and Primary Industries (Agriculture). He is also President of Japan Agricultural Journalists’ Association and a member of Council of Food, Agriculture and Rural Area Policies.
1959年佐賀県生まれ。山口大学経済学部卒。NHK入局後、鹿児島放送局、名古屋放送局などで勤務。NHKスペシャル、モーニングワイドなどの制作を担当し、経済番組のプロデューサーを経て、平成21年より解説主幹。「食料・第一次産業」を中心とする経済問題担当。農政ジャーナリストの会会長、食料・農業・農村政策審議会委員。

Since 2012, he has been serving as Director-General of ‘Noto-mai (rice)’ project, an initiative of environment-friendly rice farming, in cooperation with all 7JAs in Noto region.

Shinichiro Saito, President, Saito Noen Limited Company斎藤 真一郎 （有）斎藤農園 代表取締役In 1996 Shinichiro Saito founded Saito Noen Limited Company in Sado city and is cultivating rice and fruits. He also engages in rice farming with reduced, or no agrichemicals/fertilizers for the purpose of living in harmony with Toki (Japanese crested ibis), cooperating with Sado Association for Conservation of Rice Paddies to Benefit Crested Ibis, in which he serves as Director. He also undertakes a farming method of keeping water in rice paddies during the winter time for coexistence with organisms.
1996年に佐渡市にて(有)斎藤農園を設立し水稲や果実の栽培を行う。また、佐渡トキの田んぼを守る会（会長）の活動と連携してトキとの共生を目的とした減農薬、無農薬・無化学肥料の米づくりや、冬に田んぼに水を張る「冬水田んぼ（ふゆみずたんぼ）」を中心とした生きものと共存する農業を実践。

MISIA, Singerミーシャ 歌手A female singer representing Japanese music scene. She also dedicates to social actions, such as distribution program of bed nets and scholarship program for children in Africa. In 2010, MISIA was appointed as an honorary ambassador for the tenth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (COP10). In Ishikawa, she has implemented ‘MISIA’s Forest’ project to appeal the importance of biodiversity through conservation activities of forests.

●エクスカーション終了後、小松空港や、能登空港、金沢駅から帰るご予定の方及び 佐渡コースご参加の方は、お帰りの準備をしてご参加下さい。 エクスカーション終了後、会議会場及び周辺にてご宿泊の方には、翌朝に能登空港行きのシャトルバスをご用意します。 ●体験メニューなどがあるコースもございますので、動きやすい服装でご参加下さい。 ●詳細については、31日のエクスカーション受付時に配布予定のパンフレットをご覧ください。 ●If you will return home directly after the excursion from Komatsu airport/Noto airport/Kanazawa station or from Sado course, please make sure you have all your baggage at the time of departure.
