People Really Want, Brenda Dervin writes: “The bottom line goal of Sense making from its inception has been to find out what users … really think, feel, want, dream. The repeated failures of surveys and studies and the well-documented gap between how administrators/experts describe users and publics and the realities of what users and publics think and do, particularly when the going gets tough, became Sense making’s driving problematic.” (Dervin, 1998)
