伊豆半島ジオパークIZU PENINSULA GEOPARK

南側には伊豆半島の山々が立ち並んでいます。

横山から大嵐山まで続く山は伊豆が海底火山

だった頃のなごり。奥に見える達磨火山と天

城火山は伊豆が半島になってからできた火山

のなごりです。伊豆最高峰の万三郎岳を含む

天城の山々は狩野川の源流にあたります。

そのほか、約 15 万年前から活動を始めた伊

豆東部火山群（活火山）の山々も遠望できます。

On the south side, there is a row of mountains of Izu Peninsula. The mountains from Mt. Yo-koyama to Mt. Oarashiyama are the traces from the time when Izu was the submarine volcano. Daruma Volcano and Amagi Volcano seen far are the traces of volcanos formed after Izu became a peninsula. The mountains of Amagi including Mt. Banzaburodake, which is the high-est mountain in Izu Peninsula, are the head-stream of the Kanogawa River.In addition, the mountains of Izu Tobu Volcano Group (active volcanos) which started the activ-ity approximately 150,000 years ago can be also seen far.
