Welcome to the 2017 Breckenridge Music Festival, our annual summertime celebration of the musical arts, tucked beneath the spectacular Tenmile Range.

As you page through this brochure you’ll be reminded that the BMF is so much more than simply a classical concert series. We’ve evolved into a multifaceted community of discovery, where audiences of all ages, experiences and musical tastes are deepening their understanding and appreciation of our art form. This season offers countless ways to experience live music. You can meditate to Bach’s cello suites, attend a traditional chamber orchestra concert or explore music in combination with dance, film, or live illustration. Del & Dawg celebrates the 50-year bluegrass friendship these two legendary musicians have shared. As the living links between early bluegrass pioneers and present day, the pair has worked with the likes of The Grateful Dead, Phish and Earl Scruggs. The future of funk is clear on The Motet’s most recent self-released studio album, Totem, which covers a lot of ground stylistically while never losing sight of the groove. The piano takes center stage in seminal works for keyboards by Mozart, Bach and Tchaikovsky. Mozart’s elegant Sonata for Two Pianos gleams with classical idealism. Bach’s Well-tempered Clavier sets the standard of formal precision and expressive contrasts, while Tchaikovsky’s epic trio rounds out the program with tremendous passion and invention. This year’s free Family Concert illuminates the popular children’s tale of The Story of Babar, The Little Elephant. Composer Francis Poulenc’s musical interpretation is performed by six members of the Festival Orchestra and unfolds with help of narration and live drawing to create a fun, interactive experience for audiences of all ages.

Park Avenue is under construction at the corner of Four O'Clock Road, the main entrance to the Riverwalk Center (Tiger Dredge) Lot, and will be closed to all traffic. Plan to access the Riverwalk Center Lot from Main Street via W. Adams Avenue (two-way traffic) until projected completion of construction prior to the July 4th holiday.
