The Problem

Many villages in India have no clean water supply. Their wells run dry. The ground water is contaminated or depleted. And so they have to walk for hours in the hot sun to the nearest water source, carrying back heavy pots of water which will last them for just one day. And then they repeat the same exercise day in and day out. Imagine the waste of precious time and energy.

Village with the problem identified We proposed a pilot project at

Jalimudi, a small village near Rajahmundry, East Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh on the basis of its location and climatic conditions for setting up of a pilot project.

PROBLEM FACED:

• Few taps in the village. • Water contamination. • Nearest river source over 3 km

away. • Ground water contained fluoride. • Hours wasted in collection of water.

Proposal made to the Collector

It was a team effort by all. The village Panchayat played an important role as did the Collector of East Godavari District, the RWS Dept and other local authorities. The location for setting up of the WATERMAKER WATER STATION was identified & arrangement for 24 hr 3 phase power supply was done by them.

Before the installation of the Watermaker machine in my village, peoples collect drinking water from natural source - river. In river we create small puddles and take out water with cup to fill our pot.. The problems faced before the installation of watermaker machine are

The Godavari river is very far from my village. / River water includes some dirt particles. And river water includes bacteria because it is open space. Because of the above problems, watermaker comparison with river water, watermaker is very better.

Benefits of installation of Watermaker in my village The watermaker water is very sweet and it is free from bacteria. It is very pure water because it is filtration process.
